Looking back through Aaron's repaint thread, he's done 3 of the USMC Harrier boss' birds already, 214, 513 and 223 so those are done and on FlightSim for download if anyone wants them.
I also have 203's color bird already so I think that was part of the original release.
Don't think Aaron has done any of the stud models yet though so no wasted work on your part.

Here's VMA-211's color bird from about 18 months ago:

However, read the details of this more recent photo, seems as if this one lost it's color:

Re: Some retro F-16's
VMA-513 painted this one up special for their depolyment to the Stan last year. Not sure if it's still wearing this paint.
Looks like serial 165580 which was a 214 bird from our original Yuma release:

Re: Some retro F-16's
As outlined in the Real World changes thread, looks like VFA-86 have their new Super mounts, well at least one:

I had hoped they would use the other CAG paint (yours turned out great) on this one, must not be in the budget.

Re: Some retro F-16's
So i'm a little stuck on the VMA-213 harriers. In the photos they are wearing VMM-263 and insted of the CG on the tail they have EG...Is this just for the USS Bataan or is this their new unit?

Re: Some retro F-16's
VMM-263 is an Osprey unit and I have found numerous references to VMM-263 (Reinforced).
Also on this page http://www.jetwashaviationphotos.com/Pa ... n2012.aspx
Under a pic there is the description "VMA-231 'Ace of Spades' provided the close air support element of VMM-263 REIN in the guise of the AV-8B Harrier II. Like the other units VMA-231 is based in North Carolina, albeit at MCAS Cherry Point"
So it would seem that it is a temporary assignment for this deployment. I would assign the unit as VMM-263 (Reinforced)

Re: Some retro F-16's
Firebird,
That is correct as the other squadrons or dets in the MEU will take up the squadron number for the main unit during deployment. Years ago I couldn't figure why a Harrier had "HMH-xxx" vice "VMA-xxx" until I asked around. The VMA squadrons will also send a detachment to float with the MEU, but not the whole squadron, some will be land-based. I use the link in the "NAS Lemoore Real World Air Wing" movements to figure who is were.
