You know, you really have to shake your head at "decision makers" sometimes.
They go and scrap the ex Italian F-3's when as we in the UK know only too well, if the RAF need to launch a 2 ship sortie of Tornados, they have to start 6 of the damn things to get 2 that are serviceable

I can image that. I remember having italians on our base and they put some tape on some LEDs of the CMP to cover them (afterburner failure LEDs). But the british guys were tough, too. There was some oil dropping near the engines and they just said: Hey, if it is still dropping there must be some oil left inside?!
