Inside a MAFFS C130 durnig a drop
Re: Inside a MAFFS C130 durnig a drop
Those guys are studs. That is some of the most dangerous flying you can do. You're flying in close proximity to all the things that you're not supposed to be flying that close to, other airplanes, the terrain, power lines, smoke, fire, etc. Can't thank all the firefighters and crews out there dealing with these fires enough. Some of them whose own homes burned to the ground.

www.af.mil and the local news is reporting that one of these birds went down in South Dakota yesterday. Crew status is unknown but I did here one of the media outlets report that the crew was OK. More to follow I am sure.

Crazy watching this on the news of an area I was stationed in and flown around up until summer 08. We have at least one friend that no longer has a house.
Hope the crew is ok, seen the 302nd AW guys alot out of Peterson AFB/Co Springs.

My wife was out there last week visiting her sister. They live over on the northeast side of town, away from the fires. However, they have quite a few friends who lost homes.
