Little problem with ADE9

Post by TheFoufure »

Hello everybody,

I'm actually realising a FS9 scenery with ADE9.

When i test my project in FS9, I've a little problem. All the Taxiway are Ok,but the Aprons are not...their texture are tranparent at 50% ??? So you can see the ground autogen texture under the apron. How can I change that an have norml apron, solid, not transparent ?

Thanks a lol.

I have not used ADE a lot but have you checked that 'Draw Surface' and 'Draw Detail' have both been ticked for the apron?

Yes, there are check all (Detail and Surface).

A little precision : The original afcad come from FSX, I converted if with FSX2FS9 tools, and then I open it with ADE9. It's a missing afcad in FS9, but present in FSX.

Textures are something coming from FS9. ADE (or whatever tool is used) will generate the instructions to FS9 in the form of a Bgl file. FS9 then inteprets those. As far as I know there is no transparency capability in apron surfaces. However can you confirm that you created a flatten to establish the correct altitude for your airport in FS9? This transparency might be bleed through of land class textures due to the lack of a flatten.

If you would like to email me the project (.ad2) file then I can check it here - jon AT scruffyduck DOT co DOT uk

I got the project and see the same problem that you do. I have asked my colleagues about this issue but so far no one can offer a solution. I will let you know when I get something.

I also experienced the issue with semi-transparent apron textures about two or three years ago. At that time using AFCAD 2.21.
It suddenly appeared when I was working on an AFCAD file for several weeks. I never figured out the cause. Luckily I had backed up the AFCAD file every single day before I started working on it. So I was able to switch back to an older version.
I suppose it is not an ADE9 related problem.

I don't use AFCAD. Only ADE9. I'll restart my work with a new file in a few days...
I hope that will be goog.
