South American Air Forces AI Traffic

Post by goAIchile »

South American Air Forces AI Traffic:

As a Flight Simulator enthusiast, and a South American, always I look for new sceneries and airplanes of my region, especially from Chile.
And in general the amount of files available is very high, and of very good quality. But in the area of military AI traffic much has to be done. Perhaps enough textures are available, but only a few flight plans.

Because of that I started to make my own flight plans, initially for the Chilean Air Force (FACH) and then for the Argentina Air Force (FAA), Brazil Air Force (FAB) and the Peruvian Air Force (FAP), here I am posting some screenshots of my work.

Usually my flight plans include a lot of training flights for the fighter and trainers (off course), both IFR and VFR, and flights between airbases for the transport planes. All that using info from SCRAMBLE.NL, and some data from friends (for example for fighters and trainers no flights on weekends or during night, except during late evening)

So far I complete the following flight plans:

Argentina – Fuerza Aérea Argentina
- T-34 Mentor at Cordova (Need AI model to replace Carenado model)
- IA-63 Pampa at Mendoza (using J.R.Lucariny model, pretty frame rate friendly)
- Mirage at Tandil (Need AI model to replace W. Carter model)
- A-4AR at Reynolds (Need AI model to replace Kazunori Ito model)
- IA-58 Pucara at Reconquista (using J.R.Lucariny model, again pretty frame rate friendly)
- 707 at El Palomar (OK)
- C130 at El Palomar (OK)
-
Brazil – Forca Aerea Brasileira
- Mirage 2000 at Anapolis (need better Fernando Martinez model repaint)
- F-5E at Canoas and Santa Cruz (need new color scheme repaint for Hyun-wook Hong, Kim, "Zeki" Bohyun model)
- T-27 Tucano at Pirassununga (Ok)
- C130 Hercules at Galeão and Dos Alfonsos (Ok)
- Working on EMB110 Bandeirantes Fps.
-
Chile – Fuerza Aérea de Chile
- F-16C/D Block 50 at Diego Aracena (OK, actually miss a “Big Spine” D model)
- F-16AM/BM at Cerro Moreno (need better Henry Tomkiewicz repaint)
- F-5E at Cerro Moreno (need better Hyun-wook Hong, Kim, "Zeki" Bohyun model repaint)
- Mirage 50 at Chabunco (using Thinus Pretorius model. Those will be retired soon, so don´t need AI model)
- C130 Hercules at Santiago (Ok)
- DHC6 at El Tepual (Ok)
Chile – Aviación Aeronaval (Navy)
- P-3AC at Torquemada (Need AI model to replace Mike Stone model)
Chile – Aviación de Ejército (Army)
- CN-235 at La independencia (Ok)

Perú – Fuerza Aérea del Perú
- Mig29 at Chiclayo (need AI model to replace Rik Darley´s)
- Mirage 2000 at La Joya (need new color scheme repaint fro Fernando Martinez model)
- Su25 at Talara (Need AI model to replace Kazunori Ito model)
- An32 at lima (Need An32 AI model to replace AN26 model or a SKJ An26 Ai model repaint)
- L100-20 at Lima (Ok)
- Looking for DC-8-62 repaint

Right now my most wanted list includes:

- A-37B model for Chile, Colombia, Ecuador ,Perú, Guatemala Air forces, maybe the Pascal Suls T-37 model could be adapted, with wingtip tanks and two additional drop tanks below each wing).
- Mirage 3/5 and Kfir models for: Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador (At first I tried to use Denis and Daniel da Silva Oliveira / Guillermo Posadas awesome models, but then I realized that they didn´t work OK as AI traffic.
- Sceneries of: Taura Airbase in Ecuador, Palanquero in Colombia and El Libertador Airbase in Venezuela; Improvements in Chiclayo, Talara, La Joya, Pisco in Perú; and in Punta Arenas,Iquique and Antofagasta in Chile (Adding details in the mil apron).

I am looking to contact another people interest in the Latin American military AI traffic, maybe to work together in future packages, specially airplanes designers (willing to make or modify models), airplane painters and scenery designers (there are still a lot of airbases needed to be built), all together to enhance the South American virtual skies.

If anyone wants my flight plans please feel free to contact me and I´ll send it to you. Also I´m open to any suggestion to improve my work.

All the best

Gonzalo,

Beautiful work! I am looking forward to your Brazilian package. Great to see that someone took the time to slap on a few paints for Zeki's F-5E.

BTW, the only AI-specific MiG-29 that I am aware of at the moment is payware and comes with the Military Plus Pak 1 from Just Flight. I think a Peruvian repaint is included. The only AI specific A-4 model I am aware of is the one that comes with the Alphasim NAS Roosevelt Roads scenery (again payware). Regarding the Mirage 3/5/Kfir models, I would love to see someone make an AI model, as these are still quite common aircraft around the world. For the time being, there is an excellent, inexpensive payware AI model from AI Flight Design of the very similar Cheetah C. It's part of a package available at simmarket, but the developer seems to have gone belly up.

I think Pascal is working on a proper A-37 model. A few previews have been floating around the forum.

The dragonfly is finished and ready to fly :)

She will be part of the first south american MAIW package by Dan Bourque: Chilean air force, then will come Peruvian air force afterwards - check the preview section of MAIW

And just to keep the happy thoughts going, Barry Taylor and I intend to follow the recent Far East Exotic Alberts, by doing all the South American C-130's.

No dates as yet. Very much in the early stages, but it will come.

Cheers

There is a repaint for the Chile Air Force Learjet 35 on avsim (not painted by me). I have the flightplans for it if you want them. (I did not make the flightplans)

Also there are repaints of the Brazilian Air Force Learjet 35 painted by Graham King. I have the flightplans for them (I did not make the flightplans)

And if you install the Ultimate GA Gulfstream 4 package that has a couple of South American Airforce VIP planes.

Gonzalo - I think you did not mention the Santa Cruz Air Base – SBSC – Rio de Janeiro – Brazil by Gustavo Luna. I recently downloaded, but have not installed this as of yet, but was really charmed by his screenshots, where it can be seen that he depicts the old Zepplin hanger that still is in use at this air base, and is in my opinion, a precious historical building for the entire world to marvel at. Will you be including SBSC in your plans etc? Hope so, and I believe that many will be interested in your plans and list of available models to populate the airforces mentioned. I know that I am interested, and the plans, I would like to get on your list to receive them, unless of course, the guys ask you to join in on a project to create a series of MAIW South American Packages (which would have to be in sub packages, as not all models are currently available in a form that meets MAIW requirements. Many, however, are or soon will be available.

Keep up the good work!

Hello again:

Thanks everybody for the welcome

I didn´t notice Pascal A-37B project before, those are excellent news for me !!!….
I look forward to see the Dragonflies in my simulator. Congratulations Pascal .

I miss the Guatemala Air Force A-37B. Pascal maybe you can consider to paint it.
The Virtualcol La Aurora scenery could look terrific with those airplanes flying around.

Misha_K: I agree with you about the Mig29, A4, Mirages and Kfir. Maybe some day soon we´ll have some excellent freeware models.

CrazyDunc: Good news about the Orion, in South America the Argentinian and Chilean navy operates them, and soon the Brazilian Air Force will receive their P-3BR.

Joseph29: Yes please, send me those Lear35 flight plans, thanks.

Ronniegj: Yes I have F-5E flight plans for Santa Cruz AB, and the Gustavo Luna scenery looks great with them, here a screenshot:

I only miss a truly AI AMX model, with that we will be able to complete that airbase squadrons, another one to the list.

Also I´m looking with great interest the T-38 Talon model, maybe that could evolve in a F-5A/B/E/F model, needed to replace the actual AI model.
