Re: Splinter scheme

Post by Victory103 »

Give me a week when I get home to my copy of Combat Aircraft magazine special article featuring the USAF. I saw many of the WPS's use airframes at the main bases, like Dyess for the B-1's or Barksdale for the Buff's.

Yea I'm almost 100% sure the "WA" tail coded B-1 lives at Dyess and there might even be a "WA" coded BUFF that lives at Barksdale. There is a B-2 designated for the Weapons School but I don't think it has a "WA" tailcode. The Weapons School C-130s come from Little Rock and Davis-Monthan.

Am I wrong, or is there a B-2 with the ED code too?

Yes that one lives at Edwards for testing purposes but I don't think it carries any markings.

Actually is does (see link), or at least it did at one time.

Yea the last few pictures I've seen of it have no markings any longer. Hard to say at this point if it does or doesn't.

Not sure if this is it or not, been spotted in and out of Palmdale recently.

Well...i'm not happy with how the splinter F-15 is turning out. The paintkit makes it pretty hard to do this pattern. Maybe i'll throw it on the KRAI model.
