Historic A-4 Skyhawks

Post by Michael_Verlin »

I've just uploaded a set of Vietnam era repaints of Nick Black's single seat A-4 to both AVSIM and Flightsim.com
The process of going through this raises a couple of questions.

1) Are there other variations of this model that allow display of the various munitions and tanks the Skyhawk carried?

2) Is there a possibility of creating a single seat variant with the avionics hump that later Skyhawks were modified with?

There are modified A4 (TA-4J and H) on our front page for download, also you could search Avsim for Mike Pearson, he has also updated this model with new variants.

Thank you for the information. I already have the TA-4H and -J. They are two seaters, so they won't fit in with what I have in mind. I'll see what Mike Pearson has uploaded.

These are a great start and I agree the would look the part with loadouts. On Avsim his modified NBAI Scooters are in the following variants.

A-4E/TA-4J
A-4PTM/TAxx
A-4KU/TAxx
DUSTOFF
ARMY PROPS
NAVY SAR

I hadn't seen them before....

Has anyone done a humpless model with stores? I'm working on a retro (C2001) RNZAF Skyhawk package, based on data from pilots and groundies who were on the Squadrons at that time. Be nice to have the A-4K's with representative loads :)

I've been in touch with Mike Pearson. He is currently working on loadouts and other modifications. We'll have more to say as things progress.

That is great news!

I Might even have to do a Draken International package now, since the last 8 A-4k's and 9 Macchi 339CB's are going to them :)

I believe Mike P has taken over the furthering of the Skyhawk model variants and will do a great job should he choose to cover the former New Zealand and Aussie scooters among many others.
