Trying to create first texture sheet. I know MAIW is for AI aircraft - but hope someone can help me here.
I created a terminal using FSDS. I made a texture sheet 1024 x 1024. I have a wall that is 175 feet long.
Problem: If I make a texture 256 x 256, or 512 x 512, I cannot cover the full length of the wall properly. If I make a 1024 x 256 or 512, the texture covers properly.
But the texture looks weird on the texture sheet. To big.
Question: Is there a way to make the 1024 texture smaller in size "for the texture sheet" appearance and still be able to cover the full length of this wall? I have tried to re-size using Paint.Net, but I keep losing the coverage.
Appreciate any help.

Re: Texture Sheet Question
make screenshot of certain part then add in photshop that screenshot and then crop it and add in sheet sized 1024x1024.than go back to model and press F4 you will got options which part of object you want to texture. If object is coplicated you will need to make more screenshots depends from shape. For simple square house you can use front, back, left, right and up side.
If this is what I understood from question I hope it will help. For further assistance contact on PM.

Re: Texture Sheet Question
Huh very weird.Lets start
Step 1.First you make your object:
Step 2.Then you make screenshots of all sides you need to texture and add them in sheet sized 1024x1024 in photoshop

Re: Texture Sheet Question
Then in FSDS open your object and press F4,it will open new window named Part texture assignments
then click on SELECT button under FRONT field for example.
It will ask you to add texture sheet for your object in FSDS.Find It and add it.After adding it click twice on it and it will open new window.Find your part for front side on map and then zoom on 400% then from upper left to lower down select part on map by holding left click.Of course you do this before you make textures that will cover object(not like on pic here,it is late and i am a bit lazy)
You repeat this for every part.Have on your mind that objects like this you need to separate roof by selecting polys on upper side and under part menu click split part(you have this in Mikes tutorials). If needed I will make these days tutorial in Word and send to you but I believe that Mike cover everything.

Re: Texture Sheet Question
A slightly different way -
You can tiling for repeating patterns.
In the texture property you have tile x and tile y options.
Select the area to use from the texture sheet, then enter the number of times to tile (repeat) the area on the object.
Doesn't always work as you would expect, but worth a try.
[edit] It may actually be you have to have a seperate texture, and it tiles the entire texture.

Re: Texture Sheet Question
Weescotty; thanks for the reply. I have done what you mentioned. The problem I don't understand is, using 256 x 256 or 512 x 512 and using the x tile, the surface is not completely covered as it does using a 1024 x 1024 texture. I get "skips" between the texture I am trying to apply.
As I said, this is my first try at a texture sheet. Appreciate any ideas to help me. Thanks...
