FSX friendly packages

Post by campbeme »

Im probably going to regret this, but I am thinking of providing here on these boards "FSX friendly" packages of all my future MAIW releases. These will not be FSX native code, but will be MAIW packages I have project managed in FS9, converted by me to my own standard which I feel Install and work within the FSX/P3D environment. There will be NO official MAIW support, but I will help where I can. There will be no installer, just copy and paste I'm afraid.

Traffic Files will be converted.
Textures will be converted to FSX standard DDS or DXT5 with MIPS and Alpha.
AFD will be ADEX format.
Transparent textures will be fixed where possible.
Package will be built to FSX file structure.

My packages will be tested in FS9 only, then converted by me to be "FSX / P3D friendly"

DO NOT EXPECT every MAIW package to be released this way, just mine for now at least.

Feed back please.

Mark,

If you're going to do that mate, you need to change your forum title to;

MAIW Contibutor and Part-time masochist! :smt005

      I'm happy to assist in any way I can to make my AI and scenery models FSX friendly, but not necessarily native code until I learn how!

      Of course I am open to our members providing us with any assistance in FSX format development so that we can merge more effortlessly without the basic mistakes being made, so don't be shy all you FSX guys.
