I take that as an promising answer. By the way, what model is it you are using? I have not seen F-4s in MAIWs download section. Is that because your set is not yet ready or because your F-4 is coming from someplace else?

Thanks for pointing me to that one. I have already contacted Fernando, maybe he is willing to do a RF-4 model. I will let you know as sonn as I have heard from him.

What still beats me is where I can find your F-4 models. Can you give me another hint, please ?

Cheers,
Martin

Pretty sure the base models are on avsim.

My RAF repaints are on simviation.com and flightsim.com and the USAFE ones are waiting for me to finish them / do some more.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if its been answered already but just wondering what units still use the Phantom, are there plans for them and are there repaints to match? Tall order probably but its a pretty cool model I'm missing from my sim. :D

I believe in the US there are only some QF-4Es being used as drones out of Holloman, as well as one or two F-4Es being used for displays as part of a "Heritage Flight" (saw one here in Chicago last summer). The screenshots in this thread are retro. None of those units operate the F-4 anymore. We are all awaiting Fernando's release of the F-4E and F models so that we can recreate the last active Phantom units. South Korea, Germany, Japan, Greece, Turkey, Iran and Egypt also still operate the F-4E/F models. There are very few active operators of the F-4D remaining (AFAIK only South Korea and Iran). Sofar Fernando has only released the C/D, B/J and FGR2 models.

The 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group at Tyndall AFB used both drone and manned QF-4s as part of their Gulf Range activity. If you look at Google Earth of Tyndall, you will see some QF-4s parked on the far side of the field (old runways), these were normally the manned ones. The unmanned ones are down at the drone runway south of the base. The 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron at Tyndall and Holloman AFB (Detachment 1) operates the Department of Defense's only full-scale aerial target program, maintaining an inventory of 50 modified QF-4 Phantom II aircraft for this purpose. It also provides BQM-34 and BQM-167 subscale aerial targets to gulf range customers at Tyndall AFB.

The AlphaSim scenery available for Tyndall has the drone runway and also the Silver Flag site which is just below there.

Cheers for the info guys, South Korea interest me the most. I managed to find this list of rego's (near the bottom) - http://kalaniosullivan.com/KunsanAB/Oth ... asbF4.html - that were delivered to the RoKAF so I'm tempted to make some plans to get the F-4D's flying, be nice to see some flying around. I would guess have a few doing TNG's, have a few visiting airbases near the border near North Korea but any other ideas? I doubt you'd see them anywhere outside Korea or at a civil airbase but ideas/info welcome :D

There is actually quite a good ROKAF AI packageon avsim (filename: rokaf_pack.zip) that includes repaints and lfightplans for the F-4Ds among others. You'll just have to get rid of some of the non-AI models used in that package (like the F-15) to make it tolerable framerate wise.

No offence to the guy who made it but it'd be nice to get some real rego's flying for one thing and to do a bit more than just fly between 2 bases.

One thing with that web-page I posted above does anyone know how many of the F-4D's are still currently active with the RoKAF? Obviously information for them isn't exactly easy to come by but I'm sure someone here might have a source or idea.
