Request for Concrete Berm
I wonder if someone with FSDS can create an object similar to the area marked out in the attached image.
Using google maps, I would say that something around 250 feet long by 135 feet wide would work, allowing several to be used to construct the structure shown.
As far as height is concerned - I am reliably informed that the berms are huge. To the extent that a VC-10 parked in the apron could not contact the tower by radio as the berms blocked the signal.
Thanks in advance.

If no one steps fwd . I'll give it a try.
BTW it's 1218 X 672 ft.!
I'm just finishing off a list of SAC hangers (ETA this weekend) and will put the CAF stuff on hold .
Cheers

Re: Request for Concrete Berm
Depends on which bit you measure Brian.
I took the section on the lower end - the idea being that with one section, I could then build up the entire structure, piece by piece.
There's no rush mate.
Attached close up of the bit I measured

Re: Request for Concrete Berm
Hi Stewart
I will give it a try.
I would suggest making the whole structure in Gmax or FSDS.
Lining up the segments would have its own frustrations.
I have tried a rough model using boolean cuts on the ends much like skirting boards.
Are the walls as high as 22 metres?
Give me a few days
Regards
John

Re: Request for Concrete Berm
Hi John,
Whichever is easiest to do. They certainly could be that high. As I said, a mate was based there during Iraqi Freedom and doing ground movements, they could not contact the tower from a VC-10. They got the message relayed through an orbiting E-3
BTW The area surrounded by the berms was known as Bitburg (don't ask me why

Re: Request for Concrete Berm
Finished !!! I think I went through multiple (5) versions
and 4 different textures
before being more or less happy with the results . GREAT learning process as my previous object had been made and put in place just to check how they looked in game without regard to moving them elsewhere . Libraries were the answer (Thank's Mike !!!) Now to move on to other projects unless Stew
wants a 6 inch square of unstressed desert sand washed/Arabian mix/ semi sun bleached/ poured concrete re textured
