Coltishall

Post by Firebird »

Now that I have nice Honington installed, a touch fps heavy but nice nonetheless, does anybody know of any Coltishall scenery or enhancements for Coltishall?
I know that there was one near release a couple of years ago but I never heard anything more about it.

Chris and I released a retro jaguar package including scenery for Coltishall in 2010. It is on AVSIM and Flightsim.

Menno, thanks for that.
I didn't see that one. I saw the one using the Alphasim/UKMIL Jags, which only had an afcad I will check under your names.

Menno,
Thanks for that I found it OK. I have read the readme and it occurs to me that I need your help with something.
It is something that doesn't only affect you but also other scenery enhancement designers.

I shall explain. Your readme explains which MAIW packages to install to see all the objects at Coltishall, however it doesn't say which specific libraries are required. The problem with this, which is going to become apparent, is that Rocket is shortly going to be releasing an updated Coningsby, and of course it doesn't use any of the original libs from the Coningsby package.
This means that anybody that updates their scenery is going to lose scenery from Coltishall, and potentially others, unless they can save and copy the required libs and textures to another folder. You may start to get a lot of posts asking for help.

I hope this makes sense. If not I will try to explain better.

So do you happen to have a list of the specific libs required by your Coltishall enhancement?

You beat me to it, with the default installation and I believe I've got all the required libraries as detailed in the readme.

Thanks for the headsup about the scenery files. I have already started listing the libraries used in my latest packages.
For Coltishall I used the following:

egxc_bldgs_library.bgl
FS9RAFControlTowersLib.BGL
GGSE.bgl
JGSE.bgl
Luke Object Library.bgl
MAIW_ABO.bgl
MAIW_Crago.bgl
maiw_fence_objects_library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_Domestic_library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_Hangers_library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_Technical_Buildings_Library.bgl
MAIW_Weapons.bgl
MTrees9.bgl
RAFOpertationBuildingsLibFS9.bgl

I hope this helps too fill in the empty spots,

Like Jim, I too was confused at first. I believe that the library is the one that Ted Andrews first released and not the same one that he did/allowed MAIW to use. Whether or not they call the same objects and bmps I can't say for sure so I installed both to be sure.
