100 Squadron Canberras RAF Wyton

Post by Delboy99 »

Hi. Just to let you know that I have posted a package containing 23 repaints of John Youngs Canberra package representing 100 Squadron at RAF Wyton on Flightsim.com.

This package consists of 23 aircraft, consisting of 6 B2s, 4 PR7s, 4 E15s and 9 TT18s, based at RAF Wyton. I have also included some representative flight plans and an AFCAD of RAF Wyton as it was around 1986. I admit the ASFCAD isn't perfect, but it does give you somewhere to park the aircraft.

Next are packages containing the Canberras of 231 OCU and 360 Squadron. I just need to get on and finish them.

Thank you to John Young for giving such good packages to work with.

Just a thought but, they would look nice with the MAIW RAF Wyton scenery. Of course you would need to edit the parking from the current resident aircraft but should not take long.

Great stuff Derek! You've just saved me a job......got a bit painted out with the Tornado's I've just done. As regards scenery - I know someone who started it a while back; maybe I could persuade him to go back to it after the next one he does? I may have a little influence

There is a scenery included for Wyton in the Grob package.

Sorry guys, for some reason I had downloaded the MAIW Tutors package, but had never installed it. I had forgotten that it contained a Wyton scenery. I'm installing the scenery now, and I'll take a look to see what needs to be done, if anything, to make it compatible with the Canberra packages.

I'll mention the MAIW scenery inthe Read Me file for the next Canberra package, when I find time to complete it.

Cheers

I've just found out that I made a couple of small errors with the Aircraft.cfg and the traffic files which would have prevented 2 aircraft from showing. I have attached replacement files. Sorry about that, I'll try to check my files more thoroughly in future.

I've just uploaded my next set of repaints to Flightsim.com. This time the Canberras of 231 OCU based at Wyton around 1987-88. The package includes 11 repaints, 2 B2's and 9 T4's. Unfortunately there is no model for the T4 so I have painted the B2 model as the T4's. I'm sure no one will mind.

I tried to make the T4 nose a solid colour so that they looked more like T4's. I found the part of the canopy texture which covers the nose and modified the alpha channel. However the nose must have a transparent material applied to it as the result just looked like dirty glass. So I went back to the B2 style glass nose, which I think looked better.

Hopefully they should be available soon.

Now that Brian and Daryl have released their Wyton senery (Thanks Guys), I thought I had better get on and finish my Canberra packages. I have just uploaded repaints for the 14 T17s of 360 squadron to Flightsim.com.

Lovely - thanks for these!! I've noticed a small bug in a couple of the 100 Sqn TT18s in that it looks as though the paintkit has 'slipped starboard' about 12 pixels, resulting in a few black patches on the aircraft that shouldn't be there. Hope you don't mind me pointing it out

Hi Dinga69. Thanks for pointing out the problem with paints, 3 aircraft were affected altogether. I don't know how they slipped through. I guess this was quite a big package and I'm still quite new to this.

I have corrected the paints and will upload a revised package to Flightsim.com shortly. I will also add the other corrected files that I posted above.
