FSX & Black Canopies
I've seen a couple of articles about changing the canopy to 32bit from DXT1. Is this correct? So, on the HTAI F-16...where is the canopy texture?

There isn't a separate one, it must be part of the mdl.

Re: FSX & Black Canopies
I can confirm the canopies are part of the model.

Ugh...those black canopies are an eye sore. Hmmm...that may be a deal breaker. How do you FSX users deal with that mess?

Re: FSX & Black Canopies
I don't have black canopies on any aircraft in FSX.
Are you using SP2/Accel?

Nope. Not yet. Necessary?

Re: FSX & Black Canopies
Might be worth a try, me ole. IIRC it went some way to helping on my setup, plus the Accel addon is worth it in itself and includes SP2.

Re: FSX & Black Canopies
I would certainly advise adding SP2, it really helps with the canopies.
Re: FSX & Black Canopies
I'm running FSX Accel and I'm getting black canopies on the Nick Black F-15C,D, and E. I haven't updated these aircraft in a while and in fact migrated them over from FS9. This is the only aircraft i'm having this problem with.
Are there any fixes?
Thanks,
Reggie

Re: FSX & Black Canopies
I am pretty sure that you missend to move the shared glass texture from ..\%fs9%\texture to the local FSX texture folder. I don't know by heart what the name is - either you look in the package or somebody from the team knows.
Cheers,
Martin

Re: FSX & Black Canopies
The glass texture is not shared, it's part of the main texture. The only aircraft I'm having trouble with now is Nick Black's F-15 (A thru E models).
I tried using BitMap to change the texture to DXT5, but it didn't help.
Thanks,
Reggie
