MAIW RAF Coningsby Typhoons

Post by Christopher Low »

I have the two MAIW RAF Coningsby Typhoon packages (F2 and T1) installed, but I am having a problem with the callsigns. I have installed them with EditVoicePack X, and they are listed in the "My Modifications" section, but ATC always refers to the planes as just "13" or "45", instead of adding the callsigns to the front. Does anyone know what could be causing the problem?

I don't know this for sure so don't shoot me, but can you add voice packs made for FS9 to FSX I've never tried it?

The only thing I can think of is that the name of the vcpmod is different from the callsign specified in the atc_airline parm. It doesn't matter what the sound actually says it matters about the spelling of the identifier and the parm in the aircraft.cfg.

If you show us the line in the cfg file and tell which callsign you are having trouble with maybe we can work it out.

I am not sure if any of the callsigns are working. I have noted three or four Typhoons being contacted by ATC so far, and all of them were identified only by the number....

... And the callsigns are, in the aircraft.cfg?

There are loads of them.......Rooster, Samson, Monkey, Phaser, Tarnish, Lightning etc. As far as I can see, they are the same as the names of the audio files in EditVoicePack X.

One other obvious question I have to ask is do you have both FS9 and FSX on your puter and which one do you have this problem in?

I only use FSX.

Thanks for trying to help. Other MAIW packages that I have installed seem to be working fine (KC135s, Tornadoes, Grob Tutors etc), so I am puzzled why this one isn't....

This may sound stupid, but you clicked on "Update Voicepack" after installing the vcpmods, right?

Thanks for the suggestion, Greg. It seems that I had forgotten to update EVP after installing the Typhoon callsigns. What an idiot!
