Project AI C-17 packages
Project AI C-17 packages
A long time ago PAI released a few C-17 AI packages. Does anyone remember which ones were released? I know there was Charleston, McChord, and the RAF. Was there anymore? Or just those? I ask because I think I may be missing some of them.
Re: Project AI C-17 packages
There was also Travis, Edwards, Jackson, McGuire and Altus I think. I have them all. Keep searching PAI, they are often titled by unit number rather than base name.

search on military and then when the search results page appears click on the downloads tab, there should be 24 results.
Which way is up?

Re: Project AI C-17 packages
Thanks guys. Looks like I was missing a few. I was missing Edwards, Altus, and Jackson.
Re: Project AI C-17 packages
I had some trouble with McChord C-17s, I could'nt see them... in the end I found out that the coordinates of the airports.txt files were wrong, so be aware of it!
Re: Project AI C-17 packages
I originally had problems with the integrity of at least three of those packages. Back then I didn't know how to sort them out, either. I revisited that shadowy part of my sim about a year ago, and systematically went through all the flightplans and aircraft folders. There was a lot of housework needed doing...

Re: Project AI C-17 packages
One problem we never figured out involved low level flights.
The first flight in the RAF 99Sqn package was EGVN-EGQS at FL120. It was IFR. There was also a leg EGQL-EGVN at FL080. And one EGVN-EGXW at 120 and EGXW-EGVA at 130. Those flights would not appear enroute or land. Just popup at a parking spot. We could follow the flight from start to finish, but any attempt to join enroute or watch arrival failed.
When we changed the altitude to FL180 or higher, the flights worked perfectly.
Some shorter flights such as EGVN-EGDM-EGVN at 060 with TNG at both EGDM and EGVN, EGVN-EGVA at 060 - those worked - I assume because the distances were 42 and 10 nm so the FP had the aircraft active from takeoff to landing.

Re: Project AI C-17 packages
Sorry to dig up this really old post, but I did that to avoid getting told by some helpful soul that the search button is my friend.
I have looked hi and lo to find this PAI C17 RAF Fairford AI package and no luck. Seems the PAI site is no more and only a couple of those C17 AI packages remain on the big sites like AVSIM and Flightsim. Anybody still got this package, that would not mind sharing?
Best regards
Mark

Re: Project AI C-17 packages
Mark, I don't think that there was a PAI package for Fairford. Are you sure about this? Was it the RAF package, based at Brize, that you are talking about or something else? I seem to remember a payware Fairford RIAT package.

Re: Project AI C-17 packages
Not sure why there would be one. RAF Fairford is a USAFE forward operations base with no based RAF or USAF aircraft there....except the odd U2 Dragon flight stuff cough cough
So I think Steve is correct saying RAF Brize Norton package, but don't have that sorry.

Re: Project AI C-17 packages
OK it may have been Brize Norton, I misunderstood from the thread. Thanks.
Re: Project AI C-17 packages
I have come across this thread a bit late but Nick Black also put some flightplans for Fairford when Brize had its runway resurfaced. It covered the RAF VC10s and may have included the RAF C.17s. Very retro.
