World Traffic -- Full featured AI for X-Plane

Post by ronniegj »

Since no one else seems to have mentioned this, I'll be the first. I just discovered this new program for X-Plane for AI. It has some terrific features that are very interesting to the Military AI community. You should pay a visit to these links and check it out. Since most FS scenery can be converted to X-P and it appears most other features of A
I Military can also be converted we should be looking at this! Cost is $24.95 US. Ron

That application is still very limited when it comes to AI, though, right?

The formation feature and overhead arrivals would be great to have in FS. Payware software to handle the helos, would be nice to have it all in one easy to configure menu.

From what I've read, it is an early release, with a number of additional features to be added in updates soon. How far they plan to actually go with added features, I don't know, but it is very interesting. Not only the overhead breaks and ability to create join ups for formations, including disparate a/c types, but ability to operate in mountainous areas, and to arrive at waypoints (they call them something else) at specific altitudes, headings etc, gives the possibility for modeled operations at bombing ranges etc. There is also an additional new to come soon plugin of XP called X-Combat, that allows for air to ground and ground to air missiles and air to ground bombs, with destructive results. Whether that will work with AI I'm unsure, but is yet another reason to keep an eye on these developments! Ron

It sounds like you can create terrain following or nap of the earth routes by specifying route altitudes. I've been trying to get my FS9 and FSX AI to do this stuff for years.
