Been a bad couple of days, in addition to this one, a National Air Cargo 747-438BCF crashed on takeoff today carrying a load of MRAP's.

KABUL: Seven crew members of a US-run cargo plane were killed on Monday when their plane crashed shortly after take off from Bagram air base near the Afghan capital Kabul, the cargo operator told Reuters.
The Taliban in a statement claimed responsibility for the crash, but Nato’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said there were no reports of insurgent activity in or around the base, which is one of the largest in the country and located about 40 km (25 miles) north of Kabul.
“We did lose all seven crew members,” a spokeswoman for National Air Cargo told Reuters by telephone from Florida, where the company is located. The nationalities of the crew members were not immediately clear.

The district governor for Bagram, Abdul Shukor, described the plane as having reached an altitude of about 400 m (1312 feet) before suddenly “falling out of the sky”, he said, citing witness accounts.
The crash came two days after four US service members were killed when their surveillance aircraft in southern Afghanistan crashed due to bad weather.

Wow. I spent 7 months at Bagram and know about where that 747 went down.

Sounds like the load shifted on them after rotation, it wouldn't take much with vehicles weighing that much.

RIP.

Are we asking too much of our soldiers these days?? Call it task saturation or overloading but this could happen to anyone asked to do multiple jobs at the same time they are piloting an aircraft.

Still waiting to get the real AF report. As the case, some of the comments are just too stupid to read. In the Army, we have a currency requirement for upset recovery training, which I just got to do in Sept, I'm research to see if the AF does this for any larger platform pilots.
