What's up everyone! First of all I want to say MAIW has provided the best freeware scenery for the military simming community (Hands down in my opinion) for quite some time. Your upcoming package KOFF(Offutt AFB) is the #1 priority in my book and can't wait for it.
Anyway, before I get completely off topic here their are but just 2 AFB's I hope to see MAIW begin and eventually release. Barksdale AFB (just 2 hours north of me here in Louisiana), and Minot AFB in N. Dakota. I've seen a post from some time ago regarding Minot here in the MAIW Forums but it looks like it didn't make much progress. Have the two Bases made it to the top 3,5, or 10 on the "To-do" list?
Thanks MAIW, and keep up the spectacular work you do. Keep it up!
I can try by best to get imagery from the internet, KBAD has not changes much in the last 2 years or so. I will try to get KMIB images as well as BUFF images too if it would help.
You are new here so the guys are skirting around about the main point for you.
The fact of the matter is that everybody would like to have everything that everybody would like to see in the sim. B-52s and their bases are right up there.
However, we have learned that the aircraft/scenery modellers are most productive when they make what they want to make. They will then have passion for their project, and the chances are that it will get seen through to the end plus it will be in a quicker time scale. So in a nutshell you will get your desires when somebody makes one side of the equation and this inspires somebody to make the other side.
This is the only reason that we don't take requests here. It would be pointless and counter-productive, and it is not because we are anally-retentive psycho dictators.
Now if you are that enthused that you wish to learn to model scenery and/or aircraft then we can direct you to some tutorials to help and there are very helpful people to answer your questions. Believe it or not some of our best talent did exactly that. Otherwise you are welcome to join me in waiting for these things to materialize. If and when we get to the stage that we need information on the subject then you seem a likely candidate to help us.

It's not off my drawing board, it's just waiting in the wings among a number of needed AI. Several developers here at MAIW have expressed their interest in this aircraft but it has to wait it's turn for the right mood to come about!. Like my MRTT, my B52 model is half way developed but I too have several other things on the go which are more important to me.
Please enjoy the many models that we have developed over the years.
Hmmm. . . well, alright then. Yes I know im a new forum member and I was not trying to "Request" anything. I know "Requesting" things from Scenery and or Aircraft design sites has sadly become . . "Taboo"?
I would LOVE to make time to help the MAIW Teams/Designers pump out content for the drooling masses, alas I can only provide sertain information on B-52s and what-not.
It's not exactly taboo, it's more about being practicable.
Your original post wasn't exactly a request but there are people on the web who quickly jump on things and try to further their own agenda. We have had people, in the past, who think that they are kicking off some momentum and then get narked when nothing comes of it. A whole bunch of unpleasantness sometimes follows so it's best to avoid that.
We try to be open and honest about how we work and why. It's the same reason that we don't announce what is in the works. The simple reason is that, for varying reasons, sometimes projects don't see the light of day. It's best to protect the developers from the sort of people that see an announcement as some sort of a guarantee and then badger them when it doesn't reach the finish line.
We originally formed to bring together various skills so that AI packages could more easily see the light of day and to nurture new talent. This we feel we have managed to do quite successfully by ensuring that nobody feels under pressure to produce something they don't want to. For example we respect that for what ever reason that you don't feel able to contribute, other than information about the B-52, and that is perfectly OK. If a B-52 project nears completion you may get asked for some if required. If you feel in the future that you want to contribute in some manner that would also be OK.
You are perfectly welcome here. Every one of the staff is a user as well and we don't forget that. We are not elitist here and everyone is entitled to their opinions and express them. All that we ask is that members are polite and respectful. We don't mind members pointing out flaws and mistakes, all we ask is that they do this in a respectful and constructive manner. The FS hobby has been blighted by users hounding out developers with ill-conceived 'feedback' and this is something that we won't allow here.
Finally, don't feel that we are warning you off. That is not the case.

You scared the crap out of me Steve
All good things come in time when it's the right time! At the moment it is my understanding that their is currently more new military AI avialable then MAIW package managers are able to poke a stick at, so every additional model only makes the list longer. That's my understanding of it, not being privy to the going-ons in the back room.
I love to recieve feedback on my models but for some reason.....
Whilst Dan's response could be taken as an off hand remark it is actually very close to the mark.
Generally speaking people seem very able to give negative feedback but the majority are almost loathed to give positive feedback.
When I see positive remarks about a package I always regard it as a compliment to ALL involved not just the main player(s).
Oh and Mark, you know what I think of your models

Oh Steve, I know you like my models (avatar), lol
Two sweeties sitting at The Rocks on Sydney Harbour with the famous sails of the Opera House in the background, irresistible!
It was a cold night!
