Good morning,
I have been trying to add some of the MAIW object libraries into ADE X and I'm getting the message "No usable objects found in this file". Particularly the aircraft sunshades. Is this object already in the library, and if so, what is it located under? I would think it would be under Airport objects, but it is not. Then again, civilian airports don't have sunshades like the military has.
Thanks,
Jack
Objects Library
Re: Objects Library
Sounds like its a placement BGL not a library your trying to add. Look at the file sizes, the bigger ones are the ones with objects inside them.jethomasjr wrote:Good morning,

Mark,
That is correct. So how do I get the sun shades into the library manager? I've been tweaking different sceneries. Las Vegas is one and Luke is the other.

Re: Objects Library
You just import the object library which they are part of into ADE library manager. This will then give you a list of all the GUIDs in that library. Once you find out which GUID is the object you want you can then select it for placement.jethomasjr wrote:Mark,

Re: Objects Library
Yes, just finding the GUID is like finding a needle in a haystack. Is there a excel spreadsheet somewhere that list them?

Re: Objects Library
The easiest way is to use a program called ModelconverterX, to produce on object report for the library in question. Then copy the object report into your ADE9 thumbs folder. This will then give you a picture of each Guid as you select them for placement.jethomasjr wrote:Yes, just finding the GUID is like finding a needle in a haystack. OK, so I decided to blow off doing homework this weekend since it was my birthday and do things I want to do. I've been playing around with Model Converter X and I have figured out how to get objects into the Library Objects folder. And I have figured out how to get the Thumbs to show up so I can see what the object is when trying to place one in a ADE9 airport. However, when I go to the list and choose an object from the library and install it, save it, and check to see if it is there in game it is not. Here are some questions I have.
1. In Model Converter X I can see the list of objects. Am I suppose to get these and put them in a folder in the root file of MSFS?
2. I've been working on the Nellis object folders. Got all thumbs in and they show up in the library object list. Do I need to copy the ABO file and put it into the root file of MSFS? I noticed some of these objects are black and white checkerboard and kind of looks like before an object is textured.
3. When I make a picture from Google maps and bring it in to match up the airports, the picture is really small and I can't get it to move or turn. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? I save the Google into a BMP.
