A stab in the dark, but I'm going to go with "Serpent 48" as callsign?
Off the top of my head, the RAF has a training area in the spot where it went loopy.

Another one - one of theirs this time.....flight started registering near Cockermouth; Tony Dalton spotted it earlier on in the day; also saw two Callsigns (Gremlin 11 & Gremlin 14) going northbound out of the Hall, Gremlin 14 being identified as a UC-12.
