In fact, I had resigned myself to having to tolerate any and every such airport in FS9, and accept that it's just one of those things.
However, this Summer I discovered that somebody HAS dreamed up a permanent solution, guys....believe it or not.
ALL 23.000+ airports in FS9 and all 23.000+ airports in FSX have been addressed.
The creators of this program explain that all they have done - don't ask me how!! - is that by creating some algorithm they succeeded in producing MICROMESHES for every single stock airport.
Both in FS9 and FSX.
An incredible feat, if you ask me.
Anyway, I liked the sound of this....purchased this software and decided to check out IF it were as effective as its designers stated.
So I launched a hunt for raised-up airports in FS9...starting with KDEN Denver.
Every airport I came across, I applied the micromesh for that airport...and the results are incredible!!
I will try to upload some screenshots here for you, using Image Schack (which I've never done before).
Meantime I will attach the two pics I can upload here with this post.
Although the package is payware, it is worth every cent, guys!
Take it from one who has checked it out objectively, and does not wish anybody here to be conned into acquiring a useless program.
Far from useless this payware program is the solution many flightsimmers - who hate raised airports in FS9 - have dreamed about all these years.
The program is called A.F.M. - Aerodrome Flattening Meshes.
Its created by PILOT's...the team who have desinged FSGlobal 2008 and FSGlobal 2010.
You can check it out on their web-site, which also supplies screenshots of the effectiveness of AFM.
Some of you here may already be aware of the existence of AFM.
But some of you may not...
IN any case, it costs nothing to visit their web-site and see for yourself.
However, I am here to assure you that I have tested AFM firsthand...and found it exceeded my expectations.
