Actually, she was in CONUS, first designed for NORAD, later turned over to SAC. It was to be the original home for the Air Force Academy.
The runway was within 3 days of being poured, when the base was closed. It is being made to cover both a NORAD and SAC mission. The plans were made from DOD maps, so a little artistic license is being used.

Matt, you got it!!!! Richard I. Bong AFB. Was originally a NORAD base between Milwaukee and Chicago, originally the home of the AFA. They also
experienced problems with the folks in Lake Geneva about possible noise levels. The runway was within 3 days of being poured, and the project was cancelled.
It has since become the RI Bong Recreational area. And access to the runway area is available, during non-hunting times.
I have designed this base for both NORAD and SAC, so you will have parking for both SAC's B-47's and KC-97L's, and NORAD F-101's.
The christmas tree is set up for transient B-52's (Mike Pearson, many thanks!) The POL area, ammo dump and housing will be shown,
as will some other base areas. This is all in FSX.
