I just uploaded parts 2 and 3 to AVSIM, so all of the tall tails are done except for the Edwards aircraft, will get back to those. I am deep into G models right now, four specific G models base models covering original use to post-Gulf War to 1992 when the Gs were taken out of service. I also did a quick re-build of the H engines, something Mike G pointed out, and I got a little closer to it. I anticipate pushing G packages out the door within a few days.

Today, we're going to push the throttle forward just a little bit...... The first B-52Gs, 2 packages with a total of 110 paints, covering the first 29 years of the aircraft (1957-1986). I'm going to stop the G models here and go back and catch up the H models. The reason is that I am going to do a Gulf War package, and that is a mix of Gs and Hs divvied up amongst three provisional bomb wings. So, the next screenshots after these will be the H model in its first 25 years or so.

Since someone has to ask the stupid questions around here, which unit is 3075SW exactly? It's in the B-52D package, but I can't find any references to any units with those digits online, other than some 1940's "3075th Aircraft Ferry Squadron (Air Materiel Command)" :?

It is the 3075 Strategic Wing however like you I cannot find any references to this unit. Mike must have some secret intel that Google cannot find.

From what I have been reading, SAC de-centralized a lot of units back in the bad old days, to speed alert status in case of really bad times. It's no good if you have 20-30 aircraft at a base on alert if you can only get about half of them off the ground before first missile impact, even with miminum-interval-takeoff profiles. Anyways, from what I have researched, these are where most of the 4-digit Strategic Wings came into being, kind of temporary deployment units (like the Vietnam units at Andersen and U Tapao); and by the mid 70s or so, most of them got rolled up into other mainstream bomb wings. Virtually all of my squadron-use research comes from Joe Baugher's website, so if he got it wrong I got it wrong. For non-researchers, Joe Baugher is a guy from Chicago (at least according to his website) who has amassed an incredible amount of research on the history of aircraft use and production in the US. He has two separate serial-search databases (USAAF/USAF and USN/USMC); with a lot of data dating back to pre-WW2. He also has included synopses of various aircraft, including squadron service and timelines of use with specific units. Anybody who has used this website will agree with me it's kind of sick that one person should be so incredibly meticulous, intelligent, or free of life obligations to do this (or all three, lol). Anyways, I love his work and his website, and that's the story of that.

... From Joe Baugher's website.....

3075th Strategic Wing, U-Tapao AB, Thailand
Inactivated 9/30/75. Direct Wing control 1970-73 - replaced 4258 SW
• 364th Bombardment Squadron (Provisional), 1973-1975
• 365th Bombardment Squadron (Provisional), 1973-1974. Disbanded 7/17/74

Like I said, if Joe got it wrong, I got it wrong, but I have found tons of reference photos linked to a "3075 Strategic Wing B-52" internet search, and most of them mention RTAFB U Tapao. So, I don't think Joe was wrong on this one.
