I know that the A definitely had the glove vanes extend, but I seem to recall reading that A+ and D had them welded shut and this was retrofitted to the A. Can you tell me whether that was indeed the case or whether my mind had gone walkabout?

It maybe that due to a lack of alcohol some blood got through to the brain and I started hallucinating. Its seems that I have some weird dreams sometimes.
Excellent, free to crack another one thenmikewmac wrote: Steve,
You were corerct about the absence of glove vanes on the F-14D, so you were more effective at keeping the alcohol content up in your blood after all.

I have done Oceana as well, but it's for the F-18's. But, it wouldn't take all that long to fix that for the F-14s
Also, I have done up Atsugi, Japan, were the forward deployed F-14's were (VF-154, VF-21).
