Ukraine Air Force IL-76 question

Post by Joseph29 »

How many active IL-76's does the Ukraine Air Force have?? I am installing some Ukraine Air Force AI and there is 7 IL-76's in the plans. Wikipedia says only 2 are active is that true? Scramble shows 19 as active.

According to globalsecurity.org, there are 18 on the books......but suffice to say you're best best is to trawl through the photo search engines (airliners.net, flickr etc) and see how many you can correlate from that

The Russian language Wikipedia suggests 7 flying, linking to http://russianplanes.net/airline/Ukraine_Air_Forces as their source. However, that site only has 6 listed as flying:
76683
76697
76732
76777
78820
76413

Looking at recent pics..
76683 hasn't been photographed since 2011 when it was parked up at mx.
76697 was last seen parked in July 2013 with a very faded colourscheme. Probably not very active, could be kept in a ready state?
76732 recieved a new engine over the summer, but the comments note that it's not flying actively.
76777 was last photographed in May 2013 missing an engine. Probably not flying.
78820 was flying as recent as August 2013.
76413 has recieved a new splash of colours and was flying this spring, so probably still active.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I will just put in 2 for now (76413 and 78820). I will keep the other plans and add them if I see some photo evidence that they are flying.
