Hi Ado (real name?)
It sounds as though you already have the Typhoon models already in your system - all you need to do now is download my repaints from avsim (leu_ef_13.zip). Follow the instructions in the Readme, putting all the files where they need to be. It would be a good idea if you have the UKMIL Leuchars scenery as well (rafleu.zip from flightsim.com); if not, then you will need at least an active AFCAD for Leuchars.

Providing you have installed all files correctly, you should see 1 and 6 Sqn Typhoons flying from Leuchars.

Apart from copying, you do not need to touch the Coningsby aircraft or flightplans.

Hope that helps.

I had problems with this, I ended up generating two new files headed "RAF Leuchars Typhoon" one for the F4 and another for the T3, I copied the relevent data from the Conningsby update files into these.

As follows:
"MAIW_NBAI_Typhoon_FR4_Leuchars"
"MAIW_NBAI_Typhoon_T3_Leuchars"
Within these two files are your Repaints plus the required content from the "Updated Conningsby Typhoon"

I originally found that If I added your repaints to the "Updated Conningsby Files" the a/c did not appear.

Are there plans for Leuchars based aircraft in the Coningsby update? If not then just adding the schemes will not create new traffic. You will need either create a new file or amend an old one, for instance Tornado flightplans.

Apologies if I have missed the point here.

Did you replace the cfg file from the Coningsby Typhoons with the ones included in the zip file? If not, then no, the Leuchars paints won't show up.
There is a traffic bgl for the Leuchars Typhoons included as well.....

Also, are you using FS9 or FSX, as these were designed for FS9

Daryl, Yes I did, and am using the traffic files.
I only use FS9,cant get on with FSX!!!
I originally added your data to the Conningsby Update files ensuring the relevent data was within No 1 and 6 Sqdn a/c.
But they did not appear at Leuchars until I created the files indicated.
In the past I have just added repaints to an original file without any problems, however this is not the first time that I have had to create seperate files for existing a/c.

Agreed on FSX :D
So what you're saying is, that you tried to combine the the Leuchars aircraft into the updated Coningsby aircraft? Altering the cfg to allow for this (i.e. re-numbering etc)?

If so, that SHOULD have worked, as there is no difference between the two, save for the texture files.

This is the first FGR4 entry from the MAIW updated Coningsby pack:

[fltsim.0]
title=MAIW_NBAI_Typhoon_FGR4_RFR_3_ZJ309
sim=NBAI_Typhoon_FGR4_AI_ONLY
model=QFIT
texture=RFR_3_FGR4_ZJ309 QO-P
atc_airline=TYPHOON
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_parking_codes=03SQ
ui_manufacturer=MAIW Nick Black AI
ui_type=BAE Systems Typhoon FGR4
ui_variation=Royal Air Force - 3 Squadron ZJ309
description=Repaint by Ray Parker on the Graham King Base

And this, the first FGR4 entry from 1 Sqn:

[fltsim.0]
//NBAI Typhoon F2 Flight Model Version 2.6 by Michael MacIntyre - 3/19/2007
//Requires fx_typhoon effect texture along with fx_nbai_typhoon_ab and fx_ai_fighter_contrail effects by Michael MacIntyre

title=MAIW_NBAI_Typhoon_FGR4_RFR_1_ZK316
sim=NBAI_Typhoon_FGR4_AI_ONLY
model=QFIT
texture=RFR_1_FGR4_ZK316
atc_airline=TYPHOON
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_parking_codes=01SQ
atc_airline=JEDI
ui_manufacturer=MAIW Nick Black AI
ui_type=BAE Systems Typhoon FGR4
ui_variation=Royal Air Force - 1 Squadron ZK316
description=Repaint by Daryl Payne on the Graham King Base

You will notice two back-slashed lines between the [fltsim] entry and the sim= line, these will be ignored by the sim - that was done when I renumbered my paints....

And like I said, if the models were in that combined folder as well......cannot for the life of me fathom this one out unless I'm missing something here :?

Ado if you have the 6 Sqn textures, then you should have the 1 Sqn textures...link is here again

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... CatID=root

When you unzip the file, you will see five folders like this:

#NBAI_Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4_1 Sqn
#NBAI_Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4_6 Sqn
#NBAI_Eurofighter Typhoon T3_Leuchars
Common
Scenery

All you need to do is COPY the models and .air files from the new Typhoon (from the updated Coningsby pack) into the above folders. Nothing else.
The COMMON folder contains the weapons texture, you can put this in you MAIN scenery/texture folder.
Put the SCENERY folder straight into your main FS9 folder

Have you got an AFCAD for Leuchars? If not, you will not see any Typhoons there.

Yep, did exactly as you say, but got zero a/c. However since my PC crashed a few months ago and following repairs at my local PC shop, I have been seeing changes within FS9, all to the good I might add. For example every time I went to Grosseto in Italy the System would crash, now AOK.

Do you know, I am now running out of patience, obviously someone is trying very hard not to help themselves very much. I appreciate that there is a language barrier here, but how many times do I need to repeat myself? Am I missing something here?

Refueling in air and calling a tanker is not a standard functionality in Microsoft's flight simulators. There are some commercial user aircraft that can do this (CaptainSim, Aerosoft, I can't remember...).

In the AI environment there are some tankers with animation. This is usually triggered by a certain flight level. After this is reached the air refueling hose is extracted. But you can't call the tanker, and you won't get fuel - it is a pure optical thing.
Cheers,
Martin
