Quiet Around Here

Post by Reggie »

Man, it sure is quiet around here. Not much talk going on, no new packages. What's going on? Have we reached then end of our creativity?

Reggie, we have released 26 new packages this year, as well as more stand alone AI model releases than we can remember.

I thought we might have a couple of Thanksgiving holiday surprises. Maybe Christmas

I meant no offense. There just seemed to be a lot going on (NAS Oceana, etc.) then it just got kinda quiet.

No worries. I and many more, appreciate all of the work done here.

Seventh Birthday Week emptied the tank, going to take awhile to stock back up.

Not dead, just very few people left these days. More emphasis on the community to contribute their own works these days.

There's still more Japan goodies coming after the craziness of running the ranch during deer season dies down.

.. and you don't want to know how many projects I have on the "Get started and work enthutiastically for a weekend before forgetting all about it"-stage

Most of it is due to object hunting, where I set too high standards for what I want to use - and where I'm too useless to make the objects myself :(

Well if anyone needs help with a package, I'm here to give back to this military AI community. I have attempted to be more productive by purchasing both FSDS and FS Repaint, yet both programs sit pretty much unused on my desktop. Getting better at ADE, but not even close to MAIW airfield standards. Got the hang of AIFP2, so flightplans are easy, at least planning a small squadron sized set.

We have quite a few FSDS source files of unfinished models that are just waiting for their turn to see the light of day.

A GREAT way to learn modeling is to try to finish off a LOD1 AI model that has everything done already, you just need to finish off the lower LOD models or even to modify an already existing model. Mike Pearson can attest to this as a great way to get your feet wet.

If anyone out there really has the interest, the time and the desire to learn, we can get you started.
