MAIW Aircraft Have Sunken Wheels After Landing

Post by F-16 »

I have recently noticed that when they land, the wheels on MAIW Traffic Aircraft sink into the ground, on some planes up to the fuselage. Therefore it stays like it while they are parked.
Is this a knwn occurrence or have I done something wrong?
Thanks,

I have seen this occur when the scenery is at a different level to the afcad, and quite often the afcad in question is the default built-in one. Try checking the height of the default against the height of the addon afcad.

Hello Firebird,
Thanks for the reply.
How do I do this?

Afcad, AFX or ADE will do it. Just load up the default and check the height and then load up the addon and check the height. If one is lower than the other, and my guess is that it would be the default, then you need to make a height adjustment file in ADE.
If they are the same and there is a problem with the scenery then that becomes slightly more complicated to work out but we can deal with that when you work out if it is a simple problem or not.

Where do I find the default?
Also, when you say load up, do you mean just open the file?
I am very inexperienced with this sort of thing, you'll have to excuse me.
I forgot to mention, as far as I have seen, this is only happening at Nellis AFB.
Thanks,

The default is built into the game libs and you can really only see it by loading it up in one of the utils that I mentioned. Loading up means typing in the icao into the util and selecting the version you want.

Now having said that if you don't know how to load up an afcad I am not sure that you will know how to check them and feel confident on how to alter one to match the other.

I feel that as you are also an FSX user and there are issues with using the wrong tool that finding a single solution rather than teaching is the best solution here. Now reading your posts on the Barksdale thread I am not clear exactly where the problem is, Barksdale or Nellis or maybe somewhere else. I think that you need to specify which base is the problem so that other FSX users maybe able to help fix your specific problem.

Thanks for the help.
So far I have only noticed the sinking happening at Nellis AFB.
I just mentioned it in the Barksdale thread because I was trying to answer both questions at once.
I do not have the utilities you mentioned, so I am not sure what to do here.
If anybody could help me further I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks
