THE JASDF AND THEIR PAINT SCHEMES ....

Post by dk1213 »

I was downloading and getting my sim updated with JASDF forces, and I came across one of Mark Heimer's posts featuring some eccentric aggressor squadron paint jobs, which I thought were cool but I was thinking they had to be fictional because they were so wild. I decided to look up some of the aggressor units and I found several other pics of their fighter and helo squadrons and their crazy ass paint jobs. I could not believe an air force would allow some of the schemes they have!!!! For such a reserved country, they seem totally out there - like they got pulled some young hippie anime graphic designer out of a rave was tripping on hallucinogenic drugs and ended up with these insane schemes LOL

I just couldn't believe some of the wild colorful schemes and graphics they allowed pilots to paint on their jets .... painting them pink and purple and have their favorite Anime characters all over their jets and choppers! Girly children's cartoon characters! I can't remember the specific squadrons, but each plane had a custom big Anime graphic on the nose and tail in some cases the entire jet or helo was done in a scheme to honor or show cartoon scenes lol I couldn't believe it, its kind of hard to take the JASDF seriously when they are flying around in rainbow jets and helos with Anime cartoons all over them, I mean some really out there eccentric anime children's cartoon characters painted on their right on their planes .... I would be embarrassed to fly in some of the ones I saw. I thought Japan was ultra conservative, guess that went out the window. The ones that weren't Anime were just really bright flashy schemes that looked like whoever designed them was on drugs. just strange.

Check these out, real tough, right :)

I guarantee the Rafale isn't an actual JASDF paint. :) Lack of any Rafales in Japanese service a good indicator. That is actually from a game called Ace Combat 6.

There are some other ones from the game:

Both of the Cobras are real though In almost every case these specials are done for airshows. I've got a couple of the JGSDFs wacky helicopters already done:

Between the JGSDF and JASDF there are 7 helos with special paints done so far. The JMSDF doesn't seem to join in the party very often.

I already have scalable photoshop layers for the Kisarazu special Cobras if anyone wants to make a model. ;)

damn that rafale looked real! Rig must have really good graphics. I just got done setting up most of the JASDF bases you did, I really like Kadena! You did an excellent job on that man! It was kind of hard to organize all of that, but I got most of it done. I really like flying Japan now! Question: Do you know where I can download or find the flight plan routes for the USAF/USMC MOA Routes in Japan (Green Route, Orange, Purple, etc.) If you know where I can find more info on those routes, I would like to fly them. I just am not sure where exactly the routes go. If you can help me or know where I can get the info, let me know bro. Thanks man!

There's a nice collection of JASDF schemes here, http://www.amv83.fr/Asm/galleryjapan.htm

They certainly do go to town on their paint schemes
