Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Yeah, the Hun is on deck right behind the Su-24 project (just published part 1 last night). I have complete single-LOD masters and full paint kit in play, so it should be just a hard day or two to get the first package up and running. I'm trying to squeeze a couple of extra packages out before summer, since wildfire season is unpredictable and busy, so I can keep my model-a-month goal. There is a long established line of Russian work in progress, one favor for a beta-tester, and a couple of other Euro aircraft I haven't announced yet. I'm pretty sure I have the entire model manifest established for 2014, just need to see how it plays out work-wise.

Here is some in-sim flight test of (hopefully) finished clean models before loadout assembly and final painting. Ignore the really shiny exhaust, it will be adjusted in the final paints......

Anyone in the market for an F-100?
Still airworthy. Hasn't flown in at least three years tough. They even had a for sale sign on it during rookie school and air races. Here she is in better days, http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/ph ... 0144L.html

Naw, I'll pass, but these will be available free from AVSIM in a couple of hours. This is part 1, the F-100A and F-100C, 16 models and 66 repaints. I think the 1950s USAF was a most colorful time.......

Wow, fantastic. The Hun and the F-4 are my two favourite US fighters. Thanks Mike.

Fantastic work!
Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Hi Mike, first time commentor on your posts. Just wanted to say thanks so much for your century series. I am a big fan of the CalCalssic.com world of the late 50's and early 60s commercial flying. However many of us are starting to build more Military ai and your and others recent releases have been a big boon to that effort. This sure beets trying to build these ai flightplans with just a few flying model variations. I just downloaded the F-100 and will begin populating my 1957 world with this great model. By the way I really love the F-101. As a kid in the 66 69 my family was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford where the RF-101 were plentiful. My father was Air Traffic controller so i got to spend a lot of time out on the flightline watch 101's and may contempary planes flying in and out. Brings back so great memories. I hope a couple of the old navy birds are in development as well.
Thanks for all your hard work
Al

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Just posted Part 2 of the Hun to AVSIM, it's all F-100D pre-Vietnam metal; with 56 individual squadron textures and 112 total repaints; a true kaleidescope of military hardware.

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
We're about halfway done with the Hun oddesey. I still have to do the F-100D Vietnam and post-Vietnam USAF/ANG units, Skyblazer/Thunderbird paints, and clean up a little North African F-100C painting I forgot to do (small expansion pack overwrite file coming); plus do the F-100F and the exports. More to follow.

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Absolutely splendid work. Is anyone flying these beautiful monsters in any available retro scenery?

You can use Brian's Wethersfield scenery for the 20th TFW birds.

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
First of all my greatest thanks for all the work done here - for all of the Century AI and everything else. This is such an enhancement for FS9. Now it is so easy to bring back the 50ies/early 60ies - just as I was always dreaming of. Thanks again and my great admiration. I will now populate Bitburg, Ramstein, Hahn and Spangdahlem as well as all other AFBs in Western Europe and Northern Africa. I am doing some simple backdating on existing AFBs or try to recreate using ADE and MAIW objects. I am using existing flightplans by exchanging the planes and sometimes modifying the AFBs used there. Not much sense when a F-84F or something similar of a NATO Country appears on a Warsaw Pact air base - even if the study of secret operations or unintended incidents gives some ideas to pursue in the future. In combination with the CalClassic civilian sceneries, AI and the like it is now possible to make it "real". Up to now I have been using selfmade AIs by tinkering with flyable models. This approach works but I was never able to produce the needed variety. I have recently managed to understand repainting and am doing now some variations of F-86D/K (US-ANG and GAF) and Indian/Israeli Ouragans and Mysteres IV as well as CASA 2.111. Since I am a real Amateur und beginner I am still on the left side of the learning curve -it takes hours and a lot of surprise. So I appreciate and applaud even more the AI creations made here - carry on, you are really gifted and on top - thank you.
Cheers
