Glad to hear it.
I have used the program to stop aircraft arriving at other airports from underground.
Pleased to have contributed positively at last.

Aviano AB LIPA on Avsim
Re: Aviano AB LIPA on Avsim
I have experimented with approaches in ADE. I have tried everything from replicating real-life approaches from charts to making completely custom approaches. There is a lot of expert posts on FSDeveloper.com forums. I am still trying to understand how to influence AI arrivals with transition routes. It would be great if we could use custom approaches to serve as low-level training routes.Firebird wrote:Who has experience of messing with ADE to create a custom approach? Not only would it be great for us but I am sure that John would appreciate it as well.
I have hoped for a long time to create some sort of overhead patterns by flight planning AI plans from fix to fix that forces the plane to turn to a downwind leg, configure, base, and final. My best attempt with multiple AFCAD on about a 2 to 3 mile initial to the intended final destination always resulted in tire tracks and smoke in the sky at about 1000 ft AGL.
One experimental approach I have produced with ADE is similar to an LDA approach. IFR flights into Ramstein AB Germany end with aircraft aligned to an imaginary localizer that is about 6 miles away and 45 degrees or so from the runway. As soon as the loc is flown the AI aircraft immediately make a steep turn to runway. It adds excitement to watching C-5s and C-17s making that turn to a short final.

Working that as well as I learn the approach system in ADE. I try to keep them current as they same ones I fly real world, and added Copter only approaches. I was thinking that modifying the "curved ILS" technique might work for overheads. Another thread in the FSX area, but a new SID/STAR program came out that I am experimenting with now, it slew's the AI to set waypoints.

Yep, I saw the SIDSTAR program, but haven't tried it yet. I've been interested in doing some copter approaches too. Wondering how hard it would be get AI to simulate practice Autorotations. Maybe ADE can allow super steep Glideslopes as well?

Re: Aviano AB LIPA on Avsim
Sorry to bring up an old post but does anyone have flight plans for the F-16's I did? I've been searching but no luck.
Re: Aviano AB LIPA on Avsim
Believe it or not, I think I do!
I have no idea where I got them from, as I didn't make them. There are plans for 46 of your 47.
As I can't claim to be the author I will send you the text files, rather than attach them here. You will have to amend my naming standard to fit what you have but hopefully that shouldn't be too bad.

Sounds like the same plans I have. 46 out of 47 in use, with 3 serials not assigned to a particular squadron.
