I Just noticed a random oblong/square shaped shadow "problem " with some of Mike Pearson's F-106 and F-100 . .Anyone know what might be the cause ?
I'd been trying to track it down to see if it was something to do with my paints but have noticed it also happens with Mike Pearson's.
Occurs with F-100 also
I believe that FS9 takes the shadow from the next lowest LOD model that is currently in view. But that sure as hell doesn't look like anything but the final LOD. That would only make sense if the model got compiled without the intermediate LODs.
If you do the test and work out whether it is a general LOD issue or whether it is only certain models then you never know Mike maybe able to do a Service Pack to solve the issue.
He has shown that he has updated models that have issues before. He is a busy man but if you are able to give him specifics he is more likely to do this as my guess would be that he just doesn't seem to have time to go investigating released models fully.

Yep, it's only happening with Mike Pearson's F-100 and 106 . Roughly guessing the distance would be approx. from 80 to 120 ' or so . Beyond and nearer it appears OK. I noticed this shadow thingy as A/C were taxying towards me at different spots while testing @ my KPMD project . Phew ,now that I know that it's NOT my repaints or my KPMD I can live with "alien" shadows
