Pascal Suls C-5M Super Galaxy

MAIW is proud to present the Pascal Suls C-5M Super Galaxy AI model.

The C-5M was born out of several programs designed to update the aging fleet of C-5A, C-5B and C-5C models. Twenty-four aircraft were chosen to be fitted with updated avionics, new General Electric CF6-80C2 engines and other improvements. The new engines alone produce 22% more thrust per engine making the Super Galaxy a true beast of an airlifter.

This release contains two aircraft models, a closed version and an open version which when parked has the nose and tail ramps open. There are textures for 23 of the aircraft as the last aircraft is still in the conversion process at Marietta, Georgia.

The model uses the same flight dynamics from the original PSAI C-5 model however this version no longer has a smoke effect assigned to each engine, therefore it should be contained in its own separate folder.

Agree with all, researching the remaining A/B's that are slated for "M" conversion, will the older textures fit the new model?

No the engines had to be remapped since they are a different shape. There are a couple other minor texture tweeks to it as well.

Not to worry, I'm sure Mark Walsh can make any texture you guys need as he's already got the paintkit for the model created.

The C5 East and West packages contain most of the new C5Ms. I opened the flight plans and changed the aircraft file to replace the C5A/B with the new - matching the tail numbers.

There was one that was not in the original East/West C-5 package, I ran the remaining tails by scramble.nl and several are in conversion now at the LM Marietta plant (Dobbins ARB, GA-KMGE.) One could just change the FPs to storage.

Many from the original package are at the boneyard (AMARG) now real world, I removed those as well. WV ANG is almost done flying them and transitioning to C-17s. I try to show this in the "Real world changes" thread but it's time consuming to keep up with.

There are no plans to make an official package to utilize the M model, too much work for a simple model swap.

Best bet is for the community to put something together and share it with others.
