Trouble With T-38 Repaints

Post by Reggie »

I have Jason Rogers' T-38 repaints for Columbus AFB (version 2). I'm having a weird problem. I have 10 aircraft on the tarmac. When I approach them, some turn black. Sometimes two, sometimes six or eight of them will turn black. What is interesting is if I taxi past them and turn around to look at them, they are nearly all black.

If I use one texture set for all ten aircraft, it works perfectly fine. Although it does something to the realism to have all ten aircraft with the same tail number.

I contacted Jason and he replied that he did not know what was causing the problem. The repaints are for FS2004, but all of the other FS2004 repaints I use (nearly 100% of my AI) all work fine.

Anyone else having this type of trouble or know of a solution?

Reggie

The paints by Jason Rogers are in 32bit format. I suspect to make them compatible with FSX.

Other AI for FS9 are mostly in DXT3 format.

It might be a memory issue in FS9.

I used Image Tool to change the textures to DXT3 Format. One at a time. Yes it took a while, but I have had no issues since.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have stated that I was using FSX. Jason advised me that the repaints were built for FS2004. I have a DTXBmp Program. I guess I can use that to change them to DXT3.

Will give it a try.
