Apologises if this is wrong thread. Used MAIW for years without any major problem. My Spanish and Portugal sceneries have
suddenly lost the associated runways. (sceneries fine). Also use AFX and Airport Studio, all runways modified in lists and show up.
To overcome the problem I removed all bgls in packages and reloaded. Unfortunately this did not resolve the problem but now ALL Spain and Portugals runways including Civil in FS9 have gone!. Other countries are fine.
Can anyone please offer any advice.
Thanks Roy Monty
Disappearing Runways - HELP!
Re: Disappearing Runways - HELP!
Hi Roy,
Firstly, you say the runways have all disappeared. Can you confirm that airport buildings remain there? What about airport parking aprons and taxiways.
Secondly, although the runways disappear, do you still have AI traffic coming and going from the airports?
Finally, what scenery did you install in the days before the problem first appeared?

All aprons and taxiways have gone too. All sceneries and ai traffic are fine. Download Albacete and MAIW Spanish Super Hornets
which I believe is the last issued download with scenery.

Re: Disappearing Runways - HELP!
OK, if the AI traffic is fine at these bases, then there is one of three possibilities that I can think of.
Firstly, the most obvious one is that you have recently installed some mesh for the Iberian peninsula, i.e. Spain and Portugal. If you are able to select some AI traffic using something like TVB or Traffic Tools at one of the bases, and you appear to be underground then that is the problem.
However, you said that you haven't loaded any scenery lately so this shouldn't be the case.
Another case could be that you have loaded or created a giant exclude file that wiped out all bases in the area. I had the same problem with some Alphasim scenery wiping out others.
The third is more bizarre but possible. It could be that you have either deleted. modified or loaded some new texture that has wiped out the FS9 default concrete/tarmac textures.
Does any of these three theories make you suspect anything? It also might be worth looking at a base in the Top Down view. Sometimes it will show you something you haven't seen before.

Re: Disappearing Runways - HELP!
Many thanks Steve. I believe the third scenario is the probable cause, sadly, that FS9 default has been affected.
Will load the original FS2004 disc on to another PC, and see if the airports appear in its default state.
Keep up the brilliant work. Thank you for your time. RM.

To tag onto Steve's post
I found the same problem with scenery after loading an Asian scenery. If I remember correctly it was in Myanmar.
Everything on the same latitude disappeared.
The offending exclude was created in FS2000 or FS2002 format.
The problem is you spend time with your newly installed scenery and then only later return to the affected area much later.
Try to use a windows search for files created around 2003 or 2004.
