RAF C17 Globemaster?

Post by hobby »

I am re-building my FS9 setup and I need an RAF C17 AI acft. Would a forum member please recommend a suitable AI model?

One or two second choices are: Using the venerable Mike Stone's C17 or the PAI C17 by Owen Hewitt - both of the latter acft are flyable and may not be suitable for AI work.

There does not seem to be an RAF repaint for the MAIW C17 Globemaster - at least I have not been able to find one.

Mike Pearson has painted the PAI C-17. I was under the impression that this is a true AI model though.... Check my AI reference for the link.

Unable to find FS9 PAI acft. Link from Owl's Nest ends up at a website for sale notice! I have downloaded the PAI C17 in its FS2002 version to find that it is a completely flyable acft with full panel!! Seems to be fully operational in FS9 as a flyer.

The PAI model is the one that we use in our packages. Download any of our packages for C-17s to get hold of it.

Not sure if you were cruising my site...

1. Go to The Owl Nest
2. Select menu 'Military AI' and there 'The AI Aircraft Reference'
3. In the search box (top right) type 'C-17 RAF'
4. You end up with one result on AVSim (not for sale :smt002)...
5. Click on the link AVSim
6. Download & enjoy...

Martin

The Australian transports has a C-17. There are more in the ADF AI pack at Oz x. A very large download.

I have asked Nels Anderson about his view regarding uploading these lost files to FlightSim. Let's see what his view is.

Nels supports my view and I am allowed to upload the packages. I will do so in a short while.

I have installed the East Coast C17 package and then added the RAF textures. I spent the whole day today redesigning the EGVN Afcad to accommodate the aircraft flying from there now (Oct. 2015). The numbers of acft could not all be accommodated and while the Voyager, C17, Atlas and Hercules all appear and fly to AI flightplans I have now run out of parking spaces. I have tried building the new parking areas by joining the terminal area to the old disused runway using the afcad program and information from the internet but the result was unsatisfactory and was scrapped.

You can use ADE to (re)design you AFCAD. It's a greatfull software.

And after, you can share you new afcad ;-)

For JohnTenn: Thanks I shall give your scenery a try.

For TheFoufure: I am concentrating on rebuilding my Fs9 setup so I shall have to postpone learning the ADE program for a couple of weeks. Thanks for your suggestion.

A flatten file for EGVN.

Not needed on my setup.

Place this in your scenery folder with the rest of the above files.

In the event of floating or submerged AI, place in your Scenery/World/Scenery folder.

Done a bit of digging.

There is a previous scenery for Brize Norton. The file 'Brize Norton FS2004 A16N.bgl will hide my ADE file.

The sceneries are not compatible.

My appologies.
