F-35C Arrive onboard IKE for Follow on Carrier Sea Test Trials from VX-23.
Lots of VIP's were there including a RN Fleet Admiral. I was COD off shortly after the F-35C arrival.

When I was on IKE, I talked with a PW Mechanic and he said the RN is reconsidering again the C version. I know one of the VIP's that showed up the day I was leaving was a Fleet Admiral for the RN.

Not going to happen. They did re-look at it but the changes to the carriers are too far gone for simple changes to be effected. The cost to convert to CTOL carriers are too prohibitive for our budget. Don't forget we have just cut down to 6 fighter sqns.

The UK had joint defence agreement with the French navy for cross decking but we went back to VTOL and that knackered that! We made some stupid decisions over our new carriers. One not having them nuclear powered!

The Admiral was probably thinking why didn't we just have the C and CTOL carriers. VTOL combat aircraft have had their day. I'm waiting for congress to pull the funding on the B. Is only the UK and the USMC that are buying it?
