RNAS Culdrose (FSX)

Post by grahaml »

I have just downloaded and installed the new RNAS Culdrose and it is brilliant.
I have it running on FSX-Steam with ORBX Global Base, Global openLC Europe, Global Vector and FTX EU England software.
It looks stunning and with the AI Helicopters and Hawks its all action.
My only problem is that the airfield sits above the surrounding area and has 'cliffs' around it. I have run the ORBX Airport Elevation Correction within Global Vector and it makes no difference.
Is there a 'flatten' file that might be coming or is available that might correct this ?
In the meantime I can still enjoy Culdrose as it is.

Sorry Graham
It was only ever designed for FS9
Maybe one of the FSX users will be able to help

Graham, im also running the Orbx addons the same as you, however i use uk2000 VFR Airfields, plus MAIW_AF2_E1DR MAIW_AF2_E2DR_DEFAULT MAIW_E3DR_ADE9_GSB from Garys/maiws Culdrose, all converted to FSX , i have come across this problem quite a bit an i generally start taking out files of a scenery to find the culprit, i personally would start with 0_EGDR_VTPX MAIW_EGDR_VTPP MAIW_EGDR_VTPX , its a bit of a tiresome process but it should work how you want it to once done, dont forget to backup the files you remove from the scenery folder...

Much thanks

Mark

Thanks Mark,
Been away for a few days (not far from Culdrose in fact) so just catching up.
I will give what you suggest a try and let you know.

Mark, I am about to start trying to work on your very helpful suggestions, but before I do you suggest I should first convert the .BGL scenery files to FSX format.
I am used to converting traffic files but never had the need to do the same for scenery .BGL's, is there a software package to to do this ?
I hope it's a simple process as I am an 'old silver simmer'
Regards
Graham
