HTAI PSP Paintkits

Post by aerogator »

Hey guys, I tried to open one of the HTAI Cessna payware PSP paintkits and I got the message: " This is not a valid PSP file". Does anyone have any ideas about this?
I also seem to remember opening Henry's earlier paintkits with Paint Shop Pro. Now they are all Photoshop. Anyone remember this?
Any help will be appreciated :D
Thx,

Jake,
I just looked through my HTAI Cessna paintkits and all I have are Photoshop (*.psd).
Joe

EDIT: Just looked at the .rar file and it also has a .psp folder.

Unless this has changed recently, if the author has used a later version of PSP than the user trying to open the files, they won't open - later versions of PSP are not backward compatible. On the other hand PSP will read any version of PSD files, which is why I now release paint kits with only PSD files in them.

Jake, I'd like to help you with your request over at AIG but, being frugal (read cheap), I can only handle .psd files with Gimp.

Thanks guys. My .zip files of the original HTAI Cessna Paint Kits are labelled .PSP, so maybe I need to upgrade to a later version. I just don't have the time to learn a new system like .PSD. I did download the trial photoshop and will have a look at it. (It won't open my Cessna paint kits either. (Wonder if they have become corruupted)

Jake,

There is a full function, open source freeware paint program named GIMP which when necessary I have used to open .PSD paint kit files and then save them as .PSP files to use with my PSP.

Thanks Ray and Mike. I have used GIMP some but a long time ago. I'll give it another try. And maybe my paint kits were corrupted so I'll down load them again.
