Flight Plan Idea

Post by col1948 »

I did this many years ago, a friend of mine created a new airport and just for fun I populated it but I stayed at the airport as a spotter so to speak.

What I did was place 6-8 invisible airports a few hundred miles form this new airport and I had aircraft spawn from them to fly in, stay for 30-60 mins then return and eventually vanish.
In my mind I was not using up parking space from the invisible airports and I could have lots of aircraft spawning from them throughout the day, plus I could as you know have them flying to other airports as well, I'm thinking of trying this again now with all these great military aircraft you guys have made.

Any ideas or tips on this most welcome.

Sorry col1948 but I don't see the point of that. The MAIW packages come with good flightplans and there are a number of contributors at this site who produce flightplans for repaints that are not in MAIW packages. But hey each to there own so if it floats your boat go ahead.

I was lazy, just as an experiment on my idea in the first post, instead of making an invisible airport I used one with no parking spots, I went to the arrival airport and sure enough the aircraft arrived, it is just a way of putting aircraft in empty airports unless like my above post if there is a military flight plan database I can go to.

Hi col1948, There are flightplans in all the MAIW packages. Go to the owls nest http://www.owlsnest.eu/maiw.php or http://www.owlsnest.eu/maiw_old.php for a list of all the MAIW packages and download links or search MAIW on AVSIM. The most recent packages are available here in the download hanger also some flightplans. For more flightplans do a search in the forums Click on forums then quick links at the top left of the page and you can open the search engine. Or older flightplans search Ed Kooymans on AVSIM or the Air Force you are looking for in the AI flightplans section.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, yes I have some of the packages but it was the individual aircraft I was struggling with, I have been making some up and even using civil ones and changing the AC and destinations, fictional I know but still.
I will do a search on the ones you have mentioned thank you.
