I'm really getting the bug for the military aircraft but in my setup I have/had lots of civil traffic and flight plans installed, so after installing this new military stuff it got a bit packed and a bit confusing when looking for aircraft etc.
So I decided just for now to take out the civil aircraft, I have them saved in another folder so easy to load as and when I need them.
So how do you guys do it, do you have just military or do you mix them as in the real world?
The way I have it now is very fictional with no civil aircraft flying plus I made use of some empty civil airports, again unreal but I'm still experimenting, I need to organise my aircraft folders and flight plans in TTools, I have renamed some aircraft folders but even now I struggle to find a particular aircraft if I want to add a paint or edit the cfg.

Re: Civil, Military or Both?
I have my setup (which is Military only, but you can easily extend that to include civil AI) structure like this:
F:\AI-Aircraft\ACG
F:\AI-Aircraft\ACG.$$$
F:\AI-Aircraft\AI
F:\AI-Aircraft\AI.$$$
F:\AI-Aircraft\MAIW
F:\AI-Aircraft\MAIW.$$$
F:\AI-Aircraft\MPAI
F:\AI-Aircraft\MPAI.$$$
...
F:\AI-Aircraft\Ships-Civil
F:\AI-Aircraft\Ships-Military
All folders without .$$$ at the end are activated in the sim. So what I do is move aircaft back and forth between the enabled and disabled folders to have them in the sim. And ACG, MAIW, MPAI etc are only for structuring and me finding my way around.
F:\AI-Aircraft\ACG
F:\AI-Aircraft\ACG.$$$
F:\AI-Aircraft\AI
F:\AI-Aircraft\AI.$$$
F:\AI-Aircraft\MAIW
F:\AI-Aircraft\MAIW.$$$
F:\AI-Aircraft\MPAI
F:\AI-Aircraft\MPAI.$$$
...
F:\AI-Aircraft\Ships-Civil
F:\AI-Aircraft\Ships-Military

Re: Civil, Military or Both?
Thanks Martin, that has given me some idea now, like I said I have moved the civil to a renamed folder something like you have, I need to organise the military aircraft in to folders and/or rename some of them.
Re: Civil, Military or Both?
Me personally I just have it all loaded together. The one area that I do have switched out, flightplan-wise, is the retro stuff. If the base is still live I use the current stuff and keep the retro stuff for when I fancy it. HOWEVER, if a base is closed then I leave the retro stuff in as it will not impact current operations.
The one thing that I do for testing is have a duplicate cut down aircraft folder in which I only use aircraft that I test on. The useful thing here is that FS9 then loads in seconds as opposed to 10mins+ with my normal aircraft load. So I have the 'Aircraft' folder and the 'Aircraft TEST' folder. When I am testing I rename the respective ones to 'Aircraft FULL' and 'Aircraft'.
The flightplans I don't touch just the aircraft folders. The more aircraft you have the longer it takes to load.
