3 Ship BBMF Formation Flyby Over RAF Coningsby

Post by mikewmac »

I was out following my AI Spitfire MK IXe as it departed RAF Coningsby today and I was fortunate enough to see a 3 ship BBMF formation flyby. Below are some screenshots of this lucky occasion:

Enjoy,

Mike

I didn't realise the BBMF had a ME109!
Joking aside, that's a great achievement. 8)

Thanks Alex,

I thought the screenshots came out rather good too, even if they were of some old retro non-AI birds flying as AI.

BTW...Are you interested in testing my new BBMF compatible EGXC AFCADs? If so, PM me your email address and I'll send them along to you.

Thanks Savage,

Of course they don't have an ME 109, but they borrowed one temporarily just for my photo op. I guess I have some real pull there now.

I was sorely tempted to make a gun pass on that one, but they would have probably banned me from RAF Coningsby forever if I had.

Awesome! That is just what I was looking for. Can you make the flightplans available Mike? It's all I can do to make a single ship fp.

Awol,

My BBMF FP's are pretty basic with just a couple trips around the VFR EGXC circuit a day for testing my new BBMF parking compatible EGXC AFCADs.

The FP's for this flyby are also very basic. The only difficult parts are positioning the departure and destination waypoints so the AI fly over where you want them to, setting up the departure times so the AI show up when you want them to and finding AI aircraft that fly at exactly the same speed. I usually solve the latter problem by using AI with identical AI FDE's like I did for the 12 ship Jaguar formation flyby.

The aircraft in this BBMF flyby were specially created for a Battle of Britain tribute flyby and I unfortunately can't distribute them. Sorry. :(

Now if some kind AI designer would create models and textures for at least some if not all the BBMF fighters, I could create identical AI FDE's for them and then we could have a great BBMF flyby. :D

Thanks, I guess I'll just copy part of the Jag fp's.
