MD902 Helicopter

Post by col1948 »

I did a search but maybe someone knows if there is one, I was looking for an AI version of the MD902 Heli, I found a flyable on Hovercontrol, I did a quick repaint plus I altered the aircraft.cfg I also raised the contact points slightly so it was just off the ground.
It taxied, took off, flew and landed OK but as I said it isn't a true AI, I was reading there are a few flying for the military so thought I would give it a try lol.

There is one in JYs Waddington package, but it is a ukmil one so not true AI. It has 2 LODs, the first around 4700 polys and the second at 24 polys, so basically invisible.

Ha Ha, I think it's the same one I'm using, what I mean is the MD902 package has a few models and the JY one is the Ambulance model, the one in my picture is the N7006X model but from the same package.
So it looks like that is the only one out there for FS9 up now any way.

It(s a FS9 version on UKMIL website (inclued in a scenery pack).

If someone can make the Belgian Police repaints (the black one, and the white one), it would be good ;-)

There is a Belgian Police texture there in pack 4, I think it's the white one, at hovercontrol.

The UKMIL AI model was made by Holger Sandmann

The model you are talking from HoverControl is made by Linden Hoyle, and is for FS2002 (work in FS2004). The 4 additionnal textures packs are for this model, not for the UKMIL AI.

Yes you are right sorry mate. It was the LincsNotts ambulance texture that made me think it was because the Hovercontrol one had the same texture, I just presumed without properly checking, my mistake Duh!

I noticed on the Linden Hoyle model which is the one I am using, it flipped over on push back. When I first used it it was parked on a straight out parking bay so no push back required and it taxied, flew and landed perfect.
I set a plan for it at a different airport and as I said on push back it flipped, so I changed the AFCAD by adding another parking spot and had it straight out, I also gave it a parking code so made sure the heli went from there.
So start up OK, taxi OK, Flew OK, Landed OK so it is either don't use it or play about with the weight and balance or only have it flying from airports with straight out parking.

What would you suggest?

I was going to give the ukmil MD902 model a new lease of life with a new set of updated textures / paint kit until i had a proper look at it there are a few holes in it here and there which is a shame!!

Much thanks

Mark

Hello Mark. And there is no way, after all, to have a few repaints of this helicopter ? I hope someone can make the 2 versions of the Belgian police. and why not a french SAMU.
