Getting the Basler ready to texture.
Getting the Basler ready to texture.
This is the FS9 version, I couldn't find a paint kit so had to clean it off the best I could with my limited skills, no not sure what to paint it lol.

Not happy, the rudder for some reason shows white in the editor but grey in the sim, I've not had that before so don't know the reason, also the wheels have no colour but in the editor they show up OK, so I only half hearted painted it in a fictional paint.
The only other idea I had was to do the full body in the same colour as the rudder and make it a military aircraft.
I'm still using FS Repaint, I have PSP 7 now but still can't get my head round it lol.
The aircraft for FS9 is in Avsim, type the name David Kolas in the search and it is the first file, see if any of you guys can make a better job I'm sure you can lol.

Re: Getting the Basler ready to texture.
I should add this is not an AI aircraft by the way.
Re: Getting the Basler ready to texture.
I fathomed it now, my mistake again, in the textures there seemed to be duplicates so I deleted what I thought I didn't need.
If I change a section in one texture it makes no difference to what shows in the sim but other parts do show, it's hard to explain but the duplicate textures are needed, so I will have another go.

OK this is a little better I think, I didn't add a number because I haven't a clue on these things, may be XX167 perhaps.
Re: Getting the Basler ready to texture.
Wouldn't have thought so that is a Hawk range if my memory serves me right, plus I can't think that the RAF had a turboprop version, but I am always willing to be proved wrong.

Re: Getting the Basler ready to texture.
Well this is relating to my other thread about re-sizing textures.
I found out by chance the FSX textures fit this FS9 version of the Basler, but as most of you know they are DDS format.
So I converted them to BMP, then to DXT1, but then another problem, a couple of them were too big, so I managed to re-size them and hey presto they worked.
This is the Bell Geospace BT-67 which is an actual aircraft not fictional like the RAF one I did earlier lol.
Now one more slight problem, the rudder. For some reason there are 2 default texture files that appear in every texture folder for this plane, now if I change anything on the rudder it affects all the other aircraft in the folder.
So as I'm typing the only thing that comes to mind is to have separate aircraft folders for each version instead of putting them all in one folder which is a pain as you know.
Any Ideas?

I did this one earlier, just to add this is not my repaint, I just converted the FSX textures.
