MAIW ABO scenery object texture missing?

Post by tango234 »

Hey all,

I've put a hangar into some scenery I'm making, and it would appear that there is a texture missing along the side of the building.

The object in question is MAIW ABO08, or at least thats how the designation shows up in ADE for me (its from the MAIW ABO library). Here is a pic-ignore the fact the hangars are different sizes, thats just me scaling them to fit whats on the ground:

Assuming it isn't meant to be black, does anyone know which texture is missing? Better still, does anyone have said missing texture?

That looks like 806cd8a0-4200-a143-4c6b-2fa70182fa58

If it is, you might want to take a look at it at night. For me, the roof disappears. That's why I never use that hangar. There's one in the Elmendorf scenery which is nearly identical that works right.

Yeah thats the one. Thanks for the heads up. The roof doesn't vanish at night for me, but then again I am using the FSX version In DX10 mode with the DX10 fixer active so that might affect things. Either way, it seems there isn't much to be done about the textureless wall, so for now I've replaced them with a similar-ish hangar from vanilla FSX (one of the edwards AFB ones). I'll have a look in the elmendorf package and see whats what.

We fixed a bunch of missing textures in our standalone global scenery libraries package. Did you install that one or are you using an older version of the ABO library?

I'm using the standalone FSX/P3D version. Got it (I think), about 2 weeks ago.

Old thread, but I finally got perturbed enough by the black sided hangar to look into why it happens. The answer is that there is likely an old version of file "Airbase Buildings 3.bmp". Newer versions of this file have the appropriate texture, older versions do not. Searching for and eliminating other copies of this file on my system cleared up the issue.

For comparison, I have put the old image above the new image. If you look at the texture in DXTbmp and it looks like the top image, you have the old files

Hi Brent. The old texture is in the global library packages? If so I will fix this today.

From mobile hence short

Cheers,
Martin

No.

I need to be more clear. This was only being cause because of old copies of the file hanging out inside other MAIW project folders. The most current version was included in the Global Library package.

Removing the hidden old files allowed the new file to be read by the program. Anyone else having this problem probably has a copy of the old file hanging out inside a MAIW project somewhere.

No changes needed to the Global Library.
