North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
A few days ago I found out that John Stinstrom made scenery for North Island NAS, and tonight I tried it out. The scenery is pretty good, but there are some builds that are floating above the ground. And the are some building buried in the ground. Is this because I have the LatinVFR scenery for San Diego airport? Or is the buildings problem normal (because it's one of his first sceneries)? How can I fix the building problems?

Re: North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
I've just installed JS's North Island NAS in FS9 and all appears to be well with no floating or sunken buildings. Have you put the JS scenery above the LatinVFR scenery for San Diego in the scenery library? If you have and If you switch off the latter, does North Island appear OK?

Re: North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
I will try moving the scenery around in the scenery library list tonight when I get home.
Re: North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
I just tried moved the North Island scenery to the top of the scenery list and that didn't work. The only thing that worked is to disable the Latin VFR San Diego scenery.
It is to bad because I would of liked a North Island scenery.

Re: North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
This maybe time consuming but it might work out.
Inside your Latin VFR folder you will have at least a scenery and a texture folder.
Leave your texture folder alone but inside your scenery folder create a new folder and call it UNASSIGNED.
Then move all the files from the scenery folder to the unassigned folder.
Once your are done you will be left with one folder, unassigned, directly under the scenery folder.
Now you can activate the North Island scenery again. At the moment you will get John's scenery but nothing from the VFR scenery. However you can start moving files from unassigned folder back, one at a time to see the result.
You might get away with several at once if you are sure that they are not terrain related.
What you will find is that at some point you will find the file(s) causing you the issue. Once you do you can leave them/it in the unnassigned folder and the rest will be active.

Re: North Island NAS (KNZY) scenery help
Latin VFR KSAN has been plagued with floating building issues not related to John's scenery. They have released multiple updates to correct these issues. You might also check to see if you are running the latest version of KSAN. Otherwise like Firebird said, turn off any file related to KNZY that lies within the Latin VFR SCENERY folder. The one exception is the North Island Photoreal.bgl. The LVFR version is a nice improvement from John Stinstroms. -Woog
