The ui_variation is not required it is only useful if you have the aircraft viewable in the FS aircraft menu.

If you want to add something there there are various things which include:-
The Air Arm, the Wing/Squadron, the base, the year and finally the serial.

An example for another plane is :-
ui_variation=USAF 35th FW, 13th FS, Misawa AB, 90-0805 Air to Air Training

Has anybody installed the Luke F35A's and found a small problem with the texure of aircraft serial number 12-5050 LF. I have tried more or less all that I can come up with but this one texture will not show, I note that there is a slightly different title to all the other textures.. eg 12-5050LF but nothing shows even if you change the title to the same as all the other textures, it's only a small thing but annoying none the less.

BJ

The name on the texture folder should be: texture.USAF 61stFS 12-5050 LF

There must be one space between 5050 and LF.

John

PS. The sim sees the entries only as characters in the aircraft.CFG. These characters must match the characters in the name of the texture folder exactly.

Either change the name of the texture folder or the entry in the aircraft.CFG to match.

Hi John, re-typed the cfg and texture once again and it worked so I can only assume there was a glitch . Thanks for the advice.

Hey Guys, I figure this would be the best location to ask this: are the other Two F-35 variants planned? The Grim Reapers F-35C's are moving to NAS Lemoore in January. I already have a new updated AFCAD underway, It would be great to have the large winged Navy version to plug into that scenery!

The main author of the F-35 is not doing modelling any more. The other person heavily involved, with the B version animation, didn't finish it - I believe - or maybe doesn't have permission to release it. The C was never started by the author.

It maybe that to get B and C versions that somebody else will have to get start a new project to cover all versions.
