Hi all. I recently went back to UT2 after using WOAI for a few months. I then came across the military AI you have. Great stuff! I am having a problem with it. When running UT2, you turn the % of AI to zero in FSX. All is well. When I added in MAIW, I get nothing until I start to move that back up a bit. I can move it to 20% and still have both UT2 AND MAIW showing. If I go up to 30%, it then bumps UT2 off, and MS default AI shows, but MAIW works on other packages. Does anyone have a fix or a tutorial on how to get UT2 and MAIW to play well together? From the little bit I saw I love it! THANK YOU for a fine product! It is nice to see a P-3 leaving out of Whidbey! Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Hi Bushpounder,
The reason is that in the flightplans the AI percentage may be set anything from 0 to 100. Lots of flightplans have it set at 50% or variations to suit the performance of an individuals PC setup. If you open the Flightplans text file then you will have entries similar to this in the first part of each flighplan:
AC#1,G251,30%,WEEK,IFR,
AC#2,K240,34%,WEEK,IFR,
AC#3,R203,43%,WEEK,IFR,
AC#4,R205,53%,WEEK,IFR,
AC#5,R206,63%,WEEK,IFR,
Note you may have VFR in place of IFR and hourly variations in place of WEEK but don't worry about that.
You can set them to a percentage to suit your requirements and then recompile the 3 files into a traffic bgl with AIFP available at avsim.
I set all my flightplans to 1% but I have a powerful PC so you need to experiment.
Why UT disappears as you go up in value I don't understand because as an exaple if you set the AI slider at 30% then all flightplans from 0 to 30% should be active and those above 30% will not show which is why I set all my AI flightplans to 1%.
I hope this at least points you in the right direction.

Re: MAIW and UT2
The simplest fix, although not necessarily the quickest or easiest, is to use a program like Traffic Tools to decompile the flight plans and change the appearance rate.
For example:
AC#1,165528,40%,WEEK,IFR,0/00:14:46,0/07:48:49,270,F,0011,PAED,0/09:43:15,0/13:35:48,300,F,0011,KMUO,0/15:10:33,0/15:58:32,250,F,0011,KNFL,1/21:29:11,TNG1/21:51:20,110,F,0011,1NFL,1/21:53:47,1/22:15:56,110,F,0011,KNFL,2/17:53:30,TNG2/18:18:06,180,F,0011,2NFL,2/18:21:48,2/18:45:11,180,F,0011,KNFL,3/15:00:53,3/16:31:56,200,F,0011,KNUW,3/17:59:18,3/23:26:36,270,F,0011,PHNL,4/09:59:04,4/18:29:42,300,F,0011,RJOI
In this flight plan, the appearance rate is the 40% number right near the start. In this case, this plane will appear if the slider is at or above 40%. Changing that number to 20% or below should cause it to show up with your limit.
However, it's 0200 here and I'm half asleep... so... I might be wrong.

Re: MAIW and UT2
AIFP can do that automatically for you with the "Adjust Activity Levels" function.
Re: MAIW and UT2
The only reason I can think of that UT2 traffic disappears as more MAIW shows is the lack of parking spots.
The two systems can work in perfect harmony BUT if you have one system that adds say 30 aircraft to an airfield and another system that adds 30 to an airfield but the airfield only has 35 valid spots to park you will not see all the traffic.
The best way to deal with this would be to remove the duplicate UT2 at bases where you have our traffic.

Thanks, all. I think you gave me enough to work with and get this corrected for my set up. I am going to try the reduction in percentage and see how that goes. That looks like the easiest place to start. I REALLY appreciate the help!

Re: MAIW and UT2
Another potential cause is your frame rate setting. If it's set very high, FSX will sacrifice visuals in order to deliver the frame rate.
Just to rule this in or out, try setting your frame rate to a maximum of 25 fps (all you really need) and see if that makes any difference.

Guys, the modifying the FP to 1% and compiling did the trick. I have regular and military traffic playing nicely! It looks GREAT! I appreciate the help! Thanks all, again!!
