I would like to add NBAI F/A-18’s to the wish list for P3d4. Nick did Super Hornets, and also Legacy Bugs. My wish is to have SuperHornets first, to accompany John’s new F-35’s at NAS Lemoore. I have read that single LOD Models actually perform better in the Sim, so that may make it easier to do the conversion? Hopefully one of you more knowledgeable gentlemen can have some success at this. Thanks in advance, -Woog
In principle we are in a very privileged situation here. We have a large pile of models that we are allowed to convert.
But we have very few people who are actually able to do the conversion.
From their perspective they are facing a real big pile of tedious and difficult work.
And still they do this. Naturally they follow their own priorities and what they like to see converted.
So let's sit back, be patient and applaude every new converted model that is released.

Cheers,
Martin

Of course I will patiently wait, and be appreciative of every single one that is converted. However the nature of the thread, in fact the title itself, is exactly opposite of what you propose Martin. This is the thread specifically created to identify models that we wish would be converted. I therefore present my wish to add to the list. Very respectfully, -Woog
To Woogeys point DMDocs did start this as a wish list for conversions. Whether anyone will listen or not is a moot point (although the C-17 request has been heard)
I wish someone would convert the F-18s as well . I haven't even taken a look at them yet.
BTW if anyone wants to join the conversion party (perhaps to convert the model they most want to see in P3D) I wrote a (very) rough and ready guide on how to do conversions. It was aimed at civilian models but the basics are the same
And please, please, please don't forget the original modelers who created these models. You cannot imagine how many hours of time go into a single model.

Having spent weeks trying to model something more complicated than a simple box I can well imagine.
All MAIW paints are sitting patiently in three combined folders for the Hornets, Super Hornets and Growlers. Flight plans being converted the next days...

Actually the screenies are made in P3Dv4, hence the dynamic lighting and nice shadows. In FSX the converted ones still look better than the FS9 models (no clouds through glass etc.).
